Couple of questions about the Silverstone RV02...

Hi guys... :)

I have a couple of questions about the Silverstone RV02!

First of all, does anyone know if the standard RV02 ordered from here (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-065-SV) will now come with AP fans? I know Silverstone were looking at making them standard in all their cases, but I've heard very mixed things about it!

Second, does the RV02 lose to the FT02 in terms of temps? I've seen a couple of reviews which feature both, and the FT02 seemed to have lower temps... but as far as I know, they are very similar cases save for the much cheaper plastic on the RV02.

REALLY need a new case as my OLD Antec P180 is literally falling apart, but the FT02 is waaay too rich for me at £200... Even the RV02 isn't cheap, but I'd be willing to pay the extra if the temps are better...! :D

Thanks, all!

the RV02 is a strange one, lovely case for its a lot of money to spend for it to only hold : 3 x 3.5" drives!

I did have a RV02 and I have got to say it really looks quite cool in the pictures but very plasticy in life...

Also if you are air cooling, then I would go with the HAF-X personally.. It looks awesome (imho) air cooling is pretty cool, espcially if you got have a super long graphics card, so you can attach the extra graphics cooling.
And IIRC two hot swap bays =)

I have the version that came after this, they made some changes such as make the chassis stronger at top, also 5 3.5" internal bays.

It took a little while to build, however once it's built it's amazing. I love the way the air is sent upwards, really can't fault it. The fans are a little noisy even on slow setting, I put them on 5v and other than a 7200rpm drive it's dead silent.

It was not cheap at over £150 but I keep cases a very long time, and this will last many many years.

I'm not too worried about how plasticy it feels. As long as it looks decent and cools well, that's all that matters! :P
The Haf-X looks pretty cool, but I can't see it beating the FT02 or the RV02 on cooling, so I'm going to stick with them for when I have money! :P

I saw the white model and was very tempted! I keep my cases for years too, so a investment like this is no worries :)

However, no-one has answered my original questions... :(

Edit: Seems like reviews were done for both cases with different fans a lot of the time... so the cooling should be almost identical...

The revised models should have the AP fans (e.g. the white one).

Yes my case (revised white one) comes with the AV fans here.

They work also, the airflow from the 3 does not appear to conflict (or very little) with each other.

As mentioned I run them on the 5v and case it dead silent (along with Seasonic X650), and still provide adequate cooling. 12v full speed they provide a huge amount of air, but make the computer sound like a HP server tower!

I have a RV02 (Black) ordered from here and it came with the AP181 fans, its loud when the fans are at full speed but i use a fan controller and turn them off when not gaming

as for temps with a Corsair H50 with two Noctua NF-P12 in push pull on my overclocked i7 950 @ 4GHz range's from 38c - 46c ish and with all the fans on full between 29c-32c ide
