Someone just told me there's been a shooting in Southampton on board HMS Astute. Anyone heard anything?

Just flicked on Sky News and can't see anything about it .

POLICE are investigating reports of a shooting in Southampton Docks, today.
Sources say the incident happened close to the nuclear submarine HMS Astute, which is currently berthed in Eastern Docks.
It is not thought to be fatal.
Four police cars, an unmarked police car and an ambulance have all been seen going into the port at dock gate four.
The submarine is visiting the city as part of a drive to associate Royal Navy vessels with towns and cities across the UK.
The vessel arrived on Wednesday, following 46 days at sea for the 98-strong crew, for an informal five day visit.
The submarine was at 38/9 berth, with a 50 metre exclusion zone being patrolled by MoD police officers at all times.

TWO people have been hurt after a shooting on board the Royal Navy’s new nuclear submarine HMS Astute in Southampton.

One man has been arrested following the incident at the submarine, which is in the middle of a five day visit to the city.

The shooting is not thought to be a fatal and police have said the incident is not terrorist-related.

A police statement said: ‘Hampshire police were called by their Ministry of Defence colleagues at 12.12pm today, Friday, April 8, and are currently liaising with them to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

‘It is believed two people have sustained injuries as a result of gun shots being discharged on the vessel. People should be reassured there is no risk to public safety. ‘

The vessel arrived in Southampton on Wednesday, following 46 days at sea for the 98-strong crew, for an informal five day visit.

The submarine was at 38/9 berth, with a 50 metre exclusion zone being patrolled by MoD police officers at all times.

Two People Shot On Nuclear Submarine said:
A man has been arrested after a shooting on board a nuclear submarine - with reports that one of the two injured has died.
Initial reports suggested it was a non-fatal shooting on the HMS Astute, which is currently docked in Southampton.

But Hampshire Police are now investigating claims that one victim has died.

There are reports a 9mm pistol was used. Sky News understands the arrested man was an active serviceman.

A spokesman said the shooting was not terror-related and there was no risk to the public.

A former submarine engineer has told Sky News handguns would be kept on board the submarine but under lock and key.

Several police vehicles were sent to the Eastern Docks at the Hampshire port and officers could be seen on the gangway of the submarine.

A police spokesman said they were called by the Ministry of Defence shortly after midday.

"It is believed two people have sustained injuries as a result of gun shots being discharged on the vessel," he said.

"Hampshire Constabulary and the MoD are keen to stress this incident is not terrorist related."

HMS Astute arrived at Southampton on Wednesday following 46 days at sea for a five-day informal stay.

It previously made headlines when it ran aground on a shingle bank between the Scottish mainland and the Isle of Skye and remained marooned for several hours.

The embarrassing incident in October last year cost Commander Andy Coles his command of the 328ft-long, 7,800-tonne submarine.

HMS Astute was named and launched by the Duchess of Cornwall in June 2007 before being welcomed into the Royal Navy in August last year at a commissioning ceremony at Faslane Naval Base on the Clyde.

The submarine's nuclear reactor means it does not need refuelling and it makes its own air and water, enabling it to circumnavigate the globe without needing to surface.

Clearly a shootout between a secret government agent, and the former mentor who recruited him turned bad. I can't see how there could possibly be any other explanation.

The Mayor of Southampton was on the sub when it happened according to the BBC, but he wasn't harmed.

Yes, his former mentor was probably using the Astute as the ultimate heroin smuggling vessel.
