Just had an accident...

Bloody people slamming on the brakes when pulling out, I get really upset as I see it happening way too often, stupid scared unsecure women mostly

Sorry, not much help but I had the same happen to me a few years ago and to this day it annoys me.

If you maintain adequate stopping distance then these people can't trouble you.

This is why I didn't kick up a fuss or try to make out it was her fault, as if I'd have given her plenty of room and not assumed what she would do, I wouldn't have hit her

Exactly.

Just presuming they are going to accelerate off because they have started to move isn't an excuse to ignore them and consider them gone.

Been there done similar but on the motorway in traffic...Slap into the back of a mondeo or something who went into a car in front who had a tow bar, which burst his rad and intercooler...

i claimed, but honestly wish i had not.

chin up chap

we all make mistakes. Just learn from them and move on.

On the plus side as somebody has said, you'll have new wing bonnet and bumper, so no more stone chips :D

Can I ask why?

Of course, i was 3 years into no claims at that point.

What you have to factor is, not what will the cost be of the next years insurance, but what will be the increase every year for the next 5 years?

Every year for the next 5 years your insurance will be higher than it would have been otherwise.

And being close to getting 5 years so that you can protect it is nothing to be sniffed at. I am this summer about to get my 5th year no claims and then i will be able to protect it.

I wanted to get a fast car, and now im close thos summer but its been a long 5 years of re capturing those no claims that i lost..

Yeah, what is it with people breaking when they've misjudged a roundabout! Why don't they just break more softly and plow into the traffic?!

Maintain safe distance, problem solved.

PS it's 'insecure'. Who stoopid now.

My first accident was when i went past a 'Give Way' side street (im on the main road) and some idiot woman drives out of the give way so i go into the side of her. Broke the front tyre on my bike.

Then the idiotic cow asked me for £500 for a new bumper and door!

How i laughed...

Oh my god. I'd have struggled not to use abusive language.
