Just to clarify, it wasn't the 5k3000 part that confused me, it was that the title was saying 2TB but the link was giving it as 3TB, or vice-versa, but it's been fixed now.

This is far from true. Hitachi drives have a fail rate that is exceptionally low. The older drives they made used to fail, theres no hiding from that but to say hitachi as a whole do is plain incorrect.

Can you run these on a none SATA 6Gb/s sata port and if so do you have to do anything to them ?

What's the difference between OEM and retail for HDDs?
I recently bought some retail WD Green drives, the only 'extra' was a little bag of silica gel (ie no manual, CD, cables or even fixing screws - and no jumper which I needed).

Nice price BTW, wish I'd waited for this offer (although I prefer WD).

OEM and retail for HDD applies the same as say a CPU.. Essentially a box
