So, I am taking the missus there saturday, just wondering how can I get cheap pleasure beach tickets and where from?

Also, what else is there to do for us there?

It's so much more expensive now. I went about a year ago for a day and night with the girlfriend (avoided the nightclubs though, full of drunken idiots) and the price of pleasure beach has now hit the same sort of price as Alton Towers, which is a much bigger and BETTER theme park. Not worth the money for the 1 good ride they've got IMO.

I disagree, they have more than one good ride.

Well...none of you have answered my Q's.

What is there to do round Blackpool?

Where can I get cheap pleasure beach tickets? There £22 each on the website, is that cheap?

Cheapest you're going to get without getting ripped off.

Also, there is very little else to do unless you like donkeys and sand.

Depends what kinda stuff your into really. They got bucketloads of amusement arcades if she likes the fruit machines. Or theres pats bingo, 10p a game!

Theres the three piers to walk along. The Tower is good. Theres the Sandcastle swimming pool. Theres the tram rides. Shame your not going later in the year so there wont be any illuminations.

And junk food aplenty :D

EDIT: Oh yeah forgot theres a sealife centre near the tower and the last time I was there there was also a pirate themed mini golf course and a Doctor Who exhibition. No idea if those last two will still be there though.

Theres a big swimming baths, the tower (mini dirty eiffel) which is pretty good for views, the circus inside is pretty good too and iscluded in the price of the tower ticket. Theres an aquarium near the tower with some mini sharks etc. Some mini golf places. Theres a zoo on the outskirts. a lot of amusments and gits on stalls trying to con you into playing rubbish impossible games so walk on past those. a lot of the front was under renovation when I was there last year with builders and cement everywhere which kills the view somewhat. Beach is pretty decent but becomes tramp land in the evening.

Quite like Chester myself, if you're looking for that kind of area. Chester Zoo is a great day out.

Last time I went to Blackpool involved dodging drunk hen parties in the middle of the day, refusing to pay to go into Pleasure Beach (that used to be free to walk around) and queuing for 4 hours through the illuminations that had the previous year's date on them... never again :)
