South East motors shoot (possibly with models) – would anyone be interested?

There’s a similar thread started by someone else running on the TP forum that doesn’t seem to be gathering much interest/commitment but would anyone here be interested in getting together with a few cars/bikes for a motors shoot?

Location wise I was thinking somewhere open but urban or possibly a underground or multi-storey car park (depending on how busy).

Having a group of people/motors would allow us to be a little more creative (multiple strobes, spare hands for moving/holding equipment).

So over to you guys, any interest? :)

Would love to depending on location. I'm trying to get to grips with my 40D and would love to spend a bit of time with some more experienced peeps to pick up a few tips :)
 
Yes, definitely, although you would need to specify "South East".

Just seen the thread there. Are you proposing a different one or getting members on here to join them?

Well South East for me is London/Essex surrounding areas but willing to travel depending on numbers or suitable location.

As for joining the TP meet that's being organised by someone else so not really my place to say but I'm sure those guys would welcome more peeps.

This thread was merely trying to guage if there was interest here.

Maybe people could repsond with currently location and if/how far they are willing to travel?

Would there not be an issue with security as a lot of these places will have CCTV cameras? A group of people 'casing the joint' might attract a bit of unwanted attention. ;)
 
I'd be up for attending...don't think I'd actually take any photos but it'd be good to meet other photographers and see their perspective on things :)

someone bring a bird and drape her over the car then Jake might bring his camera out.......or he could bring a stripper with him :D

lol car photography isn't something that massively interests me :p

Although if everyone chipped in a few quid getting a model/stripper would be dead easy :)

I dunno it depends on the security, if we are polite and friendly with them most usually don't mind.

That's actually not a bad idea, although I've had very little experience shooting a paid model so if others are good with direction etc this could be a great idea.

Research is the key, looking up poses already done online etc.

But if people are serious and willing I can arrange a couple of women no problems :)
 
london would possibly be a bit too far for me. Will wait and see how things pan out. Was hoping for maybe somewhere north of london to avoid having to inside the M25.
 
A decent amount of thought regarding location would be critical for this to work. You would need I think 2 maybe 3 shooting locations, within reasonable travelling distance of each other to give good variation.

I have no ideas so someone else would have to figure it out :p
 
i know of a carpark that is free on sunday's has a nice rooftop view + basement level also near a big park east london/essex :cool:

I'd be up for that but I guess depends on what everyone else thought and how many would be willing to join/pay.

If models were involved I guess we would only need a couple of cars as the photography would be more portrait orientated.

I'll update the title to reflect the possible use of models to see if that changes the amount of interest.

That could work as the basement level and close by car park would be handy if the weather wasn't on our side.
