your area of employment is no longer of any use as your beeing replaced by computers , robots whatever.

your qualifications or area of expertise are not sufficient enough to get you anything but a minimum wage job.

what employment would you retrain for and how long do you expect this to take?

this is all hypothetical ofcourse! im just intrested to see what people would do.

maybe if you dont mind doing so list what your job was before you were made redundant

Well hypothetically if I were in a job for 5 years, I would have hoped to have made savings in either investments or just some form of goods. Or plain ol' ISA.

To tide me on over till my next job came along.

I'm doing a Maths degree with Open University, I think this could very well happen to me in about 10 years time.

I'd become a Scuba Instructor in Australia if robots took over my current job.... Not looked into how long the training would take, But cant imagine it would be that long. Probably a year?

To be fair I may become a scuba instructor in Australia if they dont. = \ Sounds like an awesome job

Years and years to become a Scuba Instructor.

Students are being replaced by robots?

Mind.
****

aye you no longer need to goto college/uni they just plug you in to the matrix and youve learnt your chosen profession.

the downside is it can only be used one time and your chosen profession is nolonger needed by mankind
what a mind **** that is :p

I'm fully aware that a lot of what I do could be replaced by computers, even sans-AI. But I'd like to see one of the sillicon chimps write up the work!

I work in a complaints department taking calls, so I don't know if robots would replace that any time soon. If I did get the chop (not because of robots though), I would pursue a music career.

currently work in sainsburys, shelf stacker, code checker, availability checker, if I got made redundant tomorrow I'd look to train up as a carpenter or something where I'd get to do more constructive work.
