Hi,

I am thinking of subscribing to PS+. Been holding off for a while. But they have a 15months for the price of 12 offer which has tipped me over the edge.

Can anyone confirm what content is guaranteed free every month (not interested in DLC discounts at the moment).

I think when it first came out they guaranteed:

1 x PSN game
1 x PSone classic
2 x PS Minis

Only really interested in the PSN and PS1 games. Was there any other guaranteed content (Themes, Avatars etc). Unlikely to use them, I just want to clarify what I will get for my money.

Also, I notice the inFamous 2 Beta will be sent in code form to only some PS+ subscribers. Have they done this before, and if so are the codes usable by any PS+ members (i.e. if I scrounge one of a fellow PS+ member who doesn't want it will I still be able to redeem it?).

Don't waste your money mate, chances are you already own the PSN games they give away, that was the case with me anyway. It really isn't worth the money.

Next 6 months is Megadrive classics being given away as PSN freebies. I have deliberately waited a long time and they seem to have already given away all the PSN games I own :) I think in the last 12 months I have only bought Joe Danger and Dead Nation.

I'm still subscribed and I don't even have a PS3 anymore. :p

But yeah, I've been a member since the launch of the service and the giveaways were pretty dire to be honest.

If you get a inFamous 2 Beta code e-mailed to you give it to me!!!

TBH I was almost sold on the online cloud saves, inFamous 2 Beta and R3 beta's and 6 Megadrive games. The fact £40 will get me 15 months if I subscribe now sealed the deal.

Do yourself a favour, buy PSN cards to the value of the subscription, you will get better value for money :p
I already bought £40 of codes to make this even cheaper!!

Been a member since the start and just renewed to get 15 months. For £32 a year (if you get PSN cards) it's not bad, got a few rubbish games, but got a few that have kept me going for a few hours. Been worthwhile for me for Wipeout, Fallout 3 DLC, the Killzone 3 DLC coming up and the Sega Games.

I got it 2 months ago and love it, I had held off for a long time because like you I wasn't sure if it was worth it or not. They do quite a lot of free stuff these days the content is getting better plenty of games, themes and avatars are available which I download a lot of. Also the early access to betas and demos is also very nice. I'm not saying it's for everybody but I like it personally.

Over the course of 15months you will easily get more than your £39.99 out of it, I have been signed up since the start and have been very happy with it.

I've got so much out of PS+, sure theres been a lot of content I already had, but even then I've had a ton of stuff for free that I was going to buy anyway. Then theres the
early demos, the priority beta access, the cloud saves, the auto game updating and the day one discounts on some new games. It's a steal in my opinion, I just got a psp as well, so I'm now going back over all the minis and psone games I didn't bother with previously.
Great stuff, I'm deffo resubbing.

I too was on the fence in regards to psn+ but having chatted to the kz3 chaps from ocuk i'm definitely getting it. As said, the PSN cards seem the way to get even better value.

Must admit some months are better than others, but you dont know all the content for that month until part way through. For the last few months most PSN games have been new games ie Stacking and this months Red Faction game so the old arguement of its stuff you already have isnt always true. The map packs are pretty good value and there is normally at least one mini and a dynamic theme i want.

I am going to subscribe today anyway.

Just wanted to know what we get apart from what I listed, each month. Reading elsewhere originally they said you would get 1 free game trial a month, 1 free avatar, 1 free theme. Those seem to vary a bit, but none of them are dealbreakers for me.

Anyone know if the beta codes are transferrable between PS+ members? I have a feeling I will miss out on the inFamous 2 Beta that starts this week, due to the late signup, so was hoping to blag the code of someone who has been a PS+ member for longer :)

Did any other PSn+ members get a survey to do the other day? It was mostly about content and services, nothing new mentioned though.

RP, as for what is guaranteed each month its hard to say TBH, for example this month thier was 3 PSN games, 1 PS1 game, 2 minis a few themes, a few avatars, Map pack for KZ3 and some other money off stuff. In a couple of weeks we will have some more content including an Infamous 2 beta offer, think this is like KZ3 beta where not PSN+ members get it at first though.

I'm new to the PS3 and have been subscribed for 3 months and have definitely got my money's worth games and themes wise. Last month was pretty crappy but Feb was great with Stacking for free on it;s release day and this month is pretty good too, original Prince of Persia, killzone 3 dlc and the Penny arcade game 1 and 2 for £3.
Seems worth it to me as I came from Xbox and paid for Live and considering I didn't play online that much it really wasn't worth it for me, in fact I was only using it for the XBLA weekly offers.

Brought 3 months yesterday for £11.99, and so far I got as I wanted anyway KZ3 DLC, and £2.49 off Dungeon Hunter. So I already saved £6.49 that I was going to spend regardless.

This is probably a stupid question but do you get to keep the games, I rememeber hearing something about you only get them for the month?

Yeah, like R3d said, you keep them for as long as you stay subscribed to plus - if you buy any discounted games though, you keep them whether you stay subbed or not.
