Hi,

OK setting my new system and I've hit an issue, got everything plugged into my P67A-UD3-B3 and it install Win7 64 fine but when it boots up for the first time I just get a bluescreen and it reboots!!

Do I need to load the AHCI drivers separately in Win7 or should it just take care of that?

Not sure what else to do!!

What's your complete spec?

Are you trying to install win 7 to an old school SATA drive or a SSD? (SSD ideally update firmware plus unplug all other HDD drives before install)

Also, try unplugging everything that's not required for install, for now, and if all goes well reattach components one by one until it bulks (if it bulks).

Memtest is also be a good diagnostic tool to run as a first step.

There is a an issue with a SSD hard drive if you installed the OS while still in IDE mode and then changed to AHCI after the fact.

Plec has it right full spec is needed to offer any constructive advice.

To the OP this is the exact same issue i am having with my Vertex 3, well even on my F4 it wouldnt install a lot of the time, and when it did it felt flakey.

This is my second board as i took the 1st one back thinking it was faulty and they swapped it with a brand new one, and now this is doing the same thing.

It seems to be the AHCI controllers on gigabyte boards as there are a lot of people having the same issues with gigabyte sandybridge boards and vertex 3's over on OCZ forum.

+1

Might be worth while using the latest bios for your board and see if that helps.
