1920x1200 - best GFX?

I would say this is the best card you can buy for 1920x1200 resolution, taking in to consideration price as well!

I appreciate you pointing out this card, but I don't think I could live with myself as a hardcore PC enthusiast moving from 2x5870 then to 2x6970 down to an even older GPU and architecture GTX480SOC!

The 6970 lightning is £340 for a little bit more you could get the GTX 580.

But then the SOC 480 at its overclock is not far of the 580 at only £230.

*Edit

Ah your wanting to crossfire the 6970's?

Then maybe the 480 isnt such a great solution, I thought you meant single cards.

I don't think GTX480 is an old architecture. There isn't much difference between GF100 and GF110. If you have the cash, you should definitely try 2 x 580 Lightning in SLI, or 2 x 580 3GB versions if you play Metro 2033 at max. Keep in mind that whatever you buy right now, it would become out-of-date immediately when TSMC/GF moves to the 28 nm node.

So according to your theory, how come Dragon Age II was used in AMD 6990's marketing review?

Because AMD can use any game they want to market their cards with.

DAII was blatantly a console port and runs crap as a result, this is pretty much agreed upon as a fact by most hardware and gaming sites.

If you think thats just a theory then you simply cant spot obvious things.

Then tell me why they don't use HAWX, Unigine Heaven, Metro 2033, GTA4, WOW CTM? If given your theory they can use any game they want to market HD 6990.

Because EA / Bioware probably paid them to use DAII.

And as I posted in your thread, DAII performance is fixed on Nvidia cards in the latest drivers.

Or that AMD simply picked a game that wasnt working well on Nvidia's current drivers to make it look like their cards are better, its not really unheard of for ATI or Nvidia to kick each other around while either one is ahead in any case.
