Was having a browse of neobrothers website earlier and came across these Tyres specifically the NT5000s now normally i would give no name tyres a wide berth but these got my interest mainly due to the company offering them such a well thought of reputation amongst my saab owning buddies

so a quick google turned up nothing about them other than a few compliments about them being decent tyres (very few good reviews- no bad ones though and they are cheap.
what with the lack of availability on Falken 452's i could quite fancy a set for the veccy :)

anyone care to offer an opinion?

muchos cheapness it seems

Noname cheapo plastic tyres? Yeah, go for it.

If you're on a budget and don't want to kill yourself, do they do Kumhos in your size?

1320 Mini (probably the most respected tuners) are stocking these. I doubt they'd be stocking them if they weren't any good to be honest.

that was my thought with neo bros, their well thought of and they are a stockist i wouldnt imagine them being pap tyres

but they are cheap and that worries me.

just stuck a set of 452's on it not too long ago so got plenty of time to sort something out for the next set but i saw these and thought hmmm could be tempted to guinea pig them on the taxi for a month and see how they go.

Ultimately they are a business though, they will sell what makes them money and no doubt plenty of customers request cheap tyres, so they'd be stupid to turn away the business on principle.

I haven't personally used the, BUT I know Mitto who ran them and was sponsored by them for his drift car last season. Obviously he was sponsored by them, but isn't any more (new car that's not ready, new season), but he said they were actually surprisingly very good. Makes me think of marangoni really - no one has heard of them, but the quality is good!

It would appear I'm the closest to providing real world knowledge on these really...

To be honest they're very well respected for doing exactly the opposite. They are renowned for not selling you stuff you don't need and trying their best to keep costs down whilst still doing a top quality job. I haven't yet heard a bad thing about them so I'd be shocked if they're prepared to risk their reputation based on flogging some cheap tyres.

There is a difference between not hard selling you useless gizmos and actively rejecting good business though, IMO.

Interesting that they seem almost desperate to get someone to spank a set of their tyres on track, with the proviso 'remember they're not track tyres' but refuse to extend the offer to a months road driving against their actual competition in the environment they are designed for, citing that they feel it wouldn't allow a unbiased opinion that would benefit other members.

So a road test of a road tyre, against another road tyre won't produce a useful result but someone destroying a set on a trackday and saying 'well they're no R888s' will? :/

If you wish to gain a totally unbiased view on the tyres then talk to the people that have actually bought the tyres and have them fitted to their cars.

Love that quote the best. Yes, because people who have just shelled out a load of money and now have purchase justification syndrome are the best source for an unbiased report :D
