Metro 2033 - fixed?

Hi

I'm tempted to get this from the on demand service, but reading up on it there seems to be a lot of issues around the gamplay mechanics; namely shooting.

Has this since been patched/fixed or still one to avoid?

I don't know what kind of issues there are (googling brings up launching issues for PC) but when I played it I didn't experience anything bad gameplay related.

Same here, i didn't have any issues and enjoyed the game.

Amazing game, shooting mechanics can be a bit janky, similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. if you've ever played that, personally I like it, the only issue with the game is the frame rate, it can get pretty low on the 360.

Agree it's a bit janky but better than S.T.A.L.K.E.R and nowhere near as bad as that joke of a website IGN made it out to be.

I played through it on 360 and found it to be a good game. Enjoyed the atmosphere, story and the setting although the breathing noise kind of annoyed me after a while.

Yes, that's my concern. A friend said it was good, but have read the game mechanics are shot.

Good responses here though, might sway it.

I loved the game and completed it on the xbox,the graphics are amazing ,also the story and atmosphere were immense.Reviews from sites like ign gave it a really shoddy rating of 7.5 but others give it 8.9 +.
I Don't really listen to anything ign says tho tbh.
Just downloading this again to play on my new rig, should be great with a 6950 compared to xbox!

Official sites might not be saying it's good but I'm yet to see someone say it's bad on different forums.

Was a surprise for me anyway how good it was as I hadn't heard of it before my boyfriend told me.

I never noticed any issues either. Brilliant story, atmosphere and setting. Not really a lot of gameplay to worry about.

Same here, it can be had quite cheaply as well so I might bare it in mind when there's a release drought

I read somewhere that PC version better due to mouse/kb suiting the game more.
anyone any thoughts on this?
How did you find it with a gamepad?

I got pretty fed up of this game...the gfx were decent along with the atmosphere but for me the shooting mechanics werent all that great and the frame rate was terrible if anything on my 360.

Think i played about 5 levels or something before i just gave up on it and traded it in.

I thought it was pretty decent when i completed it on the xbox.
I have it on the pc now and it is a wee bit better with mouse.
