Easiest way to sell a bike without TAX/MOT/Service?

Right I finally need to get rid of my bike (k2 GSXR600), it's been sat in the garage for a little over a year now and as such has no MOT, TAX, and would be due a service.

Now to get all the above sorted would mean getting it back on the road and if I did that there is a huge risk I wouldn't want to get rid of it or even worse convince me to buy another one (After 10+ years of daily biking without incident I had made the decision to stick to 4 wheels going forward).

So any recommendations on the best way to get rid? I would imagine it would be a nightmare to sell privately and to be honest I'm not really looking for great price etc, just a bit of cash to soften the blow of finally closing the door on that motoring chapter.

Thanks.

Depends how much you wanna get for it . Adding tax and mot and quick oil service is not really a problem but as you say you risk keeping it .. but will drop most of its value .

Depending on extras and ready to ride away there still selling for 2.5k/3k ish but as low as 1k with higher miles . Cant see any no mot/tax stuff for sale atm . But you could be looking at 500-700 quid if it needs tyres etc etc .

I fancy a project if the price was right (for my son) but im guessing with decent pics and honest description and the wind behind it ' it would probably make a grand'ish

It's got high miles, 42k and was been used all year round so has been exposed to the eliminates etc. I'd happily let it go for a grand so think I may start ringing round various bike shops, I,m sure with a little work they could probably make a nice profit on it.

Hmm with that mileage and no mot/tax etc i cant see it making a grand ... There is a pretty mint Movistar rep on ebay just now with 25k and tax and mot and its not reached a grand yet . That mileage and bits = £500 fixer uper

Just taken a look at that ebay ad, will be interested to see what it finishes on. Not too sure about his description though, states that the bike has only been out in the dry but the condition of the wheels would disagree with that.

Last weekend I got a new battery for mine, some fresh fuel and it fired up first go, even the sound of it running makes me want to get back on it.

Think it scrubs up well for a 9 year old bike:-

I am in the same boat as you. I'm selling my ZZRR1100 which had no tax, MOT expiring in days and no insurance.
I got a monthly policy for £30, 6 months tax at £35 and an MOT for £25. Do it, it will net you more than you spend and will make it far more sellable.
