1990s vs 2000s

In the 90s you could buy a decent mk1 or mk2 Escort for under a grand. For that reason alone I'd go back immediately. :D

The 90's were a pleasant short break between fearing nuclear annihilation and being told we should fear Islamic crazies. Even the paddies calmed it down for a while.

The drugs were awesome too.

Yup, I got mine from Mc Hammer. Can`t help but notice the slighty jealous undertone of your comment
Sorry I'm too young to have thoroughly enjoy shell suits, or Mc Hammer for that matter.
I bet you had a blonde mullet to go with your purples didn't you? :p

I had a life in the 90's, mainly because the internet didn't rule my life. I was better off without it I'm sad to say.

Though the fashion was a bit on the dodgy side :D

Wouldn't want to be a teenager growing up round here today though. Too much gangland and too many teen stabbings going on. Looks like another one has happened on my old road, judging by the Selotaph that has been set up a few doors down from my old house :(
What?
Violent crime has gone down since the 90's, the peak was ~ 1996.

Bit of a wierd one for me this.

First half of the 90's I was in Canada.
Last half of the 90's through fitst half of the 2000's I was in the UK.
Last half of 2000's till now In The Netherlands.

So I have cross cultural experience mixed in with cross decade/century but based on my own experience I would have to say this:

Cars were way better in the 90's, cheaper to buy, easier to work on and laws governing what tweaks you could do nowhere near as strict.

Music was just better in the 90's period (that being said I personaly prefere 80's music over all others especialy guitar rock)

Food was cheaper and of a lot higher quality in the 90's

Taxes were lower and tended to be used for more appropriate things in the 90's

People were social in the 90's, the internet did not rule and people actualy talked to each other, even in the street, then again they still do that here most people I walk or ride past say hello.

In general I would have to say no matter where you lived the 90's were all in all just a better time to live.

Whilst it wasn't the best decade I've lived through (that would be the late 60s/70s), when it comes to a toss up between the two then I would have to say the 90s were better then the 2000s, for a canny few reasons actually.

Nope, I`m pretty sure mullets were considered gay even back then :D

As for Mc Hammer you`re never too young to enjoy classic music, here help yourself :cool:

God I miss the 90s

On a motors specific point who remembers seeing sorted mk2 escorts on the cover of tuning mags ala revs (it was a decent mag back in the day)

Fuel was a third of the price it is now and redtop novas were unheard of and you could surprise everyone with one
