hi guys,

someone at work just asked me if I wanted to buy his gtx460, when I asked him how much he said 'make me an offer'.

My PC spec is in sig. I haven't upgraded my PC for almost a year and a half but it is still fast enough for me and I was not really looking to upgrade at all.

1) How much is a gtx 460 worth second hand?

2) How much could I sell my boxed gtx 260 for?

3) Is it worth upgrading?

I suppose it depends really on what price he is willing to sell for, but since I am completely out of touch with PC stuff, I thought I'd ask here first before I make him a VERY cheeky offer. :p;)

I'd take it to the marketplace maybe ;)
As for upgrade, you will notice a jump up but not massive.

So any idea how much they are worth then? Or how much I should offer him???

It must be the MSI 460 GTX OC going by the information he gave me.

Price check arent permitted outside the members market. Might want to ask in there as this thread is likely to be closed once a Mod sees it.

Brand new you can get it for about £100 give or take a bit so I would say offer him £50 or so. I am going off of rough prices for non OC'd ones so he might want £60 or so and they are superb cards in my honest opinion.

Stoner81.

PS - My apologies if the above is not allowed to be posted I was just trying to help.

Thread re-opened!

Just been confirmed the card is infact:

Gigabyte GTX 460 768mb OC

I have posted in the price check forum but this thread is still relevant. Is this model 460 one of the better ones, or worse? Is it actually a noticeable upgrade from a 260 or pointless?

It's worse. See my post in your thread in the price check forum

The 460 768mb is better than a 260,I had a 460 768mb and it ran everything i tried such as BC2,Black ops,Mafia 2 at highest settings with ease,However when you throw games like Metro 2033 and GTA IV at it gives in and does not perform so great...Maybe its due to the reduced amount of memory i dont know.

Id offer him £65,I sold mine for £75 about 4 months back.

But if your happy with your 260 then i dont see any point in upgrading.

Thanks guys, he wanted £100 (lol)... I offered £60...

But yeah I am not looking for an upgrade at all so it was the best I could offer at this point in time, being skint was also a factor I had to consider. :o
