Anyone else feel freaked out when going into an apple store?

Cause some people that work on Macs could NEVER buy them cause they are just better at doing some things over a Pc.I mean..thats just stupid.

Some being the operative word here. The majority don't. The majority just buy the stuff as a status symbol to either follow the herd or pander to their own idiocy and ego. The minority will buy macs for specific purpose such as graphics design, etc.

Prove it. Oh wait, you can't? Oh, i guess its mindless internet drone waffle then.

What are Macs better at these days? It used to be Image Processing and Publishing but the PC software has pretty much caught up now. So what exactly can you do on a Mac that is better than a PC?

People are forgetting about iPad, it is the best for games and software(apps) and just works. So it isn't just style. I certainly didn't buy one because it's apple, I got it because it is the best device out there in the category.

and. Just works.

Which is the main thing for me when it comes to iphone/ipad. I work in IT, i dont want to mess around with things to make them work etc. I want it to enhance my time that i have using it, which apple seems to do greatly.

iPhone and iPad I can see the point in. They do things that other products in the marketplace just aren't capable of yet. (Though flash support would be nice thanks). Macs however I am struggling to see what they do better than a PC these days.

look good, thats about it for me (in my experience). nothing that a hidden case and a decent screen and keyboard cant match though.

If you have the rest of the apple range then it makes sense, so it's totally compatible. I wouldn't of even looked at the apple htpc but now I am as I have iPhone/iPad and as such films will now be purchased through iTunes.stupid cornering the Market with drm. Not that I would ever buy a mac. No game support. Just like I would never run Linux.

Also a lot of people are trained on macs, then of course you get the posers but they are prevalent in all markets.

Of course it is.

Let's take iPhones just as an example shall we? People flocked to buy those phones despite many - that I know from direct personal experience - not needing the phone for functional purposes. They were perfectly happy with the phone they had. This happens time and time again whenever something becomes a fashionable 'fad' - everyone wants to own one to fit in, it's a herd mentality. Functionally too, the iPhone isn't the best - or at least wasn't - in terms of either value or ability, yet people still opted for it as a status symbol. Case in point, now the iPhone4 has been released, with things added-on/unlocked people are now buying that so they can wave it in other's faces that they've gone one better. If these people had bought another smart-phone they wouldn't have had to deal with Apple's pretenciously arrogant marketing in doing nothing more than holding back functionality that is perfectly available at the time so that they can double their sales later. What's more, Apple make no secrecy about doing this and infact, openly flaunt this tactic in an open mockery to the stupidity of the people that buy into it: "iPhone4: This changes everything. Again."

Wise up for Christ's sake. You're dragging our species backwards.

Tell you what, you prove to me it isn't. It works both ways.

For the record, I do own Apple products, so I'm not at all anti-Apple. I'm just not stupid enough to buy into the Bukkake party that's going down.

But would have to flash android, apps crash, lack of decent apps to begin with. The alternatives to iPhone maybe do more but at a big cost. Most people want it to work, work reliably and be supported. as for cost look at rep for iPhone and the alternatives they are almost identical. There's stuff you can bash apple for, but some stuff people go on about is nothing but haters, these are as bad as the fanboys.

Why are people saying "I own iPad", "iPod is good" .You don't say "I own computer", "I would like lamp", "I hungry".
The only reasonable conclusion we can make is being an Apple Fanboy, turns you thick. :p

Excuse me, but you are talking out of your backside. Every single person i know that has an iPhone got it on contract, and when that contract came up for renewal every single one opted to continue the contract with the latest handset. That has been the workings of the contract industry for over a decade and well before the iPhone came into existence.

And no, you have made the claim you prove it, the onus is on you, and this is not a religious thread, so i am afraid you cant tender scripture as proof.

Clever marketing. Simples.

Kinda like people that buy cars because they look good and project an image, rather than because of the functionality. Not many people need big cars but they drive them.

Or how about clothes, people buy things they like the look of, even though they dont need to spend as much money like they do.

Or what about houses? How many people need to be in a 3 bed when they could be in a 1 or 2 bed flat?

Hmm, ok. It's just apple products that are bought in this way.
