Does anyone know if this is going to be aired in the UK? I'm guessing it will be Sky 1 or Atlantic if it does, but has anyone seen any news about it being aired over here?

In case you haven't heard of it see these links. It's by AMC so you know it's brilliant... and it is by the way! but I didn't tell you that ;)

Not heard about this one, looks interesting.

Anyways, Walking Dead was another AMC production and it aired on FX about a week after the US premiere. So I suppose you might see the same schedule with this.

I'm not sure, but there was a Swedish drama by the same name shown on BBC3 not so long ago. Not sure if the USA one is a remake or the same show?

From the wiki it looks like it's a remake of the original. Did you watch the Swedish one and if so was it any good?

I missed the start, and not all of it is on iPlayer so no, but I know quite a few folks on here raved about it.

Watched the pilot for it in the US but it was awful. Watch the danish version, forbrydelsen, it is done much much better than this remake.

Although I love the stunning lack of imagination of the US remake that puts the heroine in a the same style of jumper as in the Danish version.

It was Danish, and it was spread over 20 episodes (one per day of the investigation) I cannot see any US audience following something that long and complex. I would call this version ''The Killing Lite''
The original was very good. It is being released on DVD sometime this month.

People will tell you Forbrydelsen was amazing, because it's all Scandanavian and moody and "ooh subtitled television is sooo much cleverer", but the truth is it was a decent, but not spectacular 20-part drama, with its fair share of unlikely 24-style twists, and occasionally clunky acting.

Worth seeing mind. Very good, just not a must watch.

Watch "Forbrydelsen" it was brilliant......and for everyone getting it wrong it's Danish, not Sweedish.

Series 2 starts in the Autum on BBC4, can't wait.

So this started on Channel 4 last night? What did we think? If you've watched the Danish version (or the US version) no spoilers please :)

I watched Day One but had to go to bed so will watch Day Two tonight. I thought Day One was very well done, actually quite upsetting watching the parents of Rosie Larsen panicking then realising that their worst fears had come true. Wow the male cop is a douche though.

BTW - anyone know the song/artist for the music C4 used in the trailers for The Killing?

Also: /rude @ BBC for hiding the Danish version of BBC4. The DVD is like £40 too :(

Just as a heads up, apparently the US remake ends on a cliffhanger (unlike Forbrydelsen) so be prepared to be frustrated at the end of the season.

Second series is starting in the UK in a couple of weeks I think. Been on in the US for a few weeks and so far it's awesome. Really pleased with how it's developing! :)

Forbrydelsen seasons 1 and 2 have been the best thing on TV for a long time.
Tried to watch this US remake and it just didn't do it for me.

I've just caught up with this, I'm now on season 2 episode 3. Great tv series, not as good as The Wire of course but it's keeping me entertained non the less and beats most of what's on tv atm.

I see that Joel Kinnaman is going to be the new Robocop......hmmmm not sure about that.
