Hey peoples,

I have aquired some 5.1 PC speakers but they have the connection as in the picture. Is there anyway to adapt this to go to TV (RCA?) or an xbox?

Thanks in advance,

These will adapt each cable.... but.... Where are you going to connect 6 phono plugs on the back of your TV?

PC speakers like the ones you have are expecting the signls for certain speakers down these plugs. One jack plug for Front L&R. One for Rear L&R. One for Centre & Sub channel. That's what a soundcard from a PC would provide. There aren't many TVs that do that.

You'd be best using either a cable as above or plugging the 3.5mm jack into the headphone socket of your TV. The best I imagine you can do is to use the green and just the FL/FR speakers and sub.

Even if you buy the right cables, then the best you'll get from those PC speakers is probably just high frequency (squeaky) sounds from only the left and right little satellites. No bass. No surround.

If you want voices and music to sound normal you need the bass box to work. But if there's no signal from the TV specially for the bass speaker then you're out of luck. It's the same for the centre channel and surround speakers.

You need a speaker kit that can take a stereo signal and divide it up properly so that you get all the channels and the bass speaker working. If your speaker kit has another input for an iPod or similar then that'll do. If not then you need different speakers.

So it wont work?
In simple terms.. based on what info you've give so far....No. I don't think it'll work.

Just a thought, if you have an iPod or similar then try the green plug in to the headphone socket to see if you get bass. You might be lucky.

Ive done a bit more research and found that logitech used to supply with their pc speakers this little device.

Does anyone think it would work with creative speakers?

What Creative speakers are they?

My Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 speakers use the same 3-colour cables, and if you don't plug in the black (centre/sub) or pink (orange) then it expands stereo to the other channels.

However - the most you'll ever get from something that doesn't have discrete 5.1 analogue outputs is stereo.
