Hi, i'am after a new HDD for my ps3, atm i have 80gb fat model, and iam looking to change it for a bigger one, will any 2.5" laptop drive work ok, or is the any models people can recommend??

many thanks Bish422

I think the majority work. There maybe a few that are slightly too big, as in a millimeter. I swapped mine on Saturday with a Fujitsu HDD that was in a borked laptop.

Look at the ones Overclockers sell and look at the customer reviews. Most of them seem to be used in PS3s.

A 7200rpm drive in a ps3 isnt a good idea .The old fat ps3's get hot enough and a 7200rpm drive will add to the heat a little . I do belive the faster drive makes no diffrence in a ps3

What are the biggest capacity drives that fit the PS3? Tempted to upgrade my 320Gb one - its getting old and noisy (2.5years old)...

ps3ud0

I have 750gb in my slim. It's great for recording TV shows with PlayTV. I have a few Albums on there too which I downloaded from Amazon. :)
