Anyone else feel freaked out when going into an apple store?

What are your thoughts on the rest of my post that you chose to ignore?

I did readthem, some of it I accept, not having a go jsut reads that way, seems more odd that you dont ansewer my question.

Sorry to edit, not what you point was jibberish, jsut the way it was typed I couldnt make sense of it, sorry.

SOme of you arguments work both ways, if the PC market is SUCH a better platform and is cheaper, why dont some of the biggest CGi houses use them?

WHy did the CGi team behind Avatar go with Maya?..why not use what was teams of poeple working on cheaper Pcs?

Then why the hell order it?

Oh, wait. You just want to show off. You are in an Apple thread to be fair, so I'll let you off this time.

Because I want it. Anyway it wasnt to show off, whats so good about that... I was just pointing out that PCs can be expensive for what they are, as people were stating that Apples are just over priced.

Doesnt apply as the argument is if Everyone is using it then we would be talking about Windows based systems, some im working on system that are like about 12% of the Pc market share or somethign like that.

It is fallacious because you are saying "all large us studious use it." It does not make a scrap of difference to your argument.
You can't use that argument as it is wrong, just because a set amount of people use it, it does not mean that is right.
It's just as bad as saying that all windows users use internet explorer so you should use it, it does not matter if it is talking at a narrow range or talking about 12% of users it is still not a valid point.
You should never use it in argument, no matter what you are talking about. It's fallacious right at the core.

Thats like saying theirs many ways of hitting a nail into a piece of wood, but just because everyone else uses a hammer, even the best carpenters in the business, doesnt mean its the best way of doing it.

I did readthem, some of it I accept, the rest if a bit jibberish and im not sure you have every used any of the programmes in question or have worked in a real studio that had to deal dfay in day out with these things TBH, not having a go jsut reads that way
Ah, so you don't understand. therefore I'm talking rubbish? I don't really care if you're sure or not whether I've got expierience with the applications I'm talking about, what is very clear is you don't at all.
seems more odd that you dont ansewer my question.
How bizarre of you to think that considering how you've responded yourself.

SOme of you arguments work both ways, if the PC market is SUCH a better platform and is cheaper, why dont some of the biggest CGi houses use them?
I'm not arguing the PC is better. You've invented that yourself. I'm arguing against your categorical statement that "some studios uses macs, therefore macs are better for studios".

WHy did the CGi team behind Avatar go with Maya?..why not use what was teams of poeple working on cheaper Pcs?
Ah, so you suggest I don't know what I'm talking about, then suggest that because they used Maya, it wasn't on PCs? Maya comes in both windows and mac flavours. The fact that they did use Maya is again irrelevant to your argument, as Maya isn't mac exclusive, which means Maya was chosen on its own merit, not because of the OS it runs on. Additionally, again, if you think you know what you're talking about, would you really have needed to ask me why a movie studio chose maya over max? That much should be obvious to you, some one in the know and all.

Oh, I'll answer it for you since we both know you don't know. Maya is simply centred around animation and video, hence why it is often used for movies, in basic terms, that's all there is to it.

It does apply, you're saying "well avatar was made with maya, that makes macs better", while seemingly believing that maya is for mac only. If you didn't pick up on things, as stated in the wiki article, like "9 out of 10 think it's better, so that in itself makes it better", then it wouldn't be a logically fallacy, however that is how you're forming your arguments.

Yes you are spot on,you have to bring up the reason for using a hammer not that it is correct because many people use it.
Pro's:
Cheap
Easily available
Does not require Electricity
Cons:
Health Risk
Might be hard to hit small nails in and might not hit into very hard wood.

It was mac based system for the core parts, I know this as I talked to them at a conference which was headed by 2 lead deisgners who worked on the film..granted their was thousands that work on it from many differeny studios, but speicically it was about Maya, Pixar Maya, Autodesk SoftImage XSI (pc based granted), Houdini, and yes 3DS was used a lot as well, in cluding all teh usual Illustrater After Fx etc.

Edit..didnt mean I talked at the conference, I mean I talked to the guys talking at it, sorry typed to fast there.

THis is going silly off topic now, but seeing that, then the main way that everyone else is doing it is better...the Cons dont seem worth it.

The Apple Bluewater store is like an oven, that's my main gripe, other than kids using it like an internet cafe (great for facebook raping people when they haven't logged out). Don't usually need to go in there but never find it particularly weird when I do. Great idea though, a customer can try nearly everything before they decide to buy. I feel more awkward going in restaurants where the staff do song and dance routines.

Can't stand apple stores, last time I went it was to buy a wall socket charger for my ipod, for one it was upstairs meaning I had to navigate past the 50 odd people creaming themselves over ipads and getting in the way, then once I finally find the bloody thing I spend a few minutes looking for a till when one of those smug tossers they call staff came over and let me know "they don't have tills" and making me look like I'd just fallen out of a tree.

Never again.

Yeah they just try to hard to be different, but end up being odd, creepy and just not right. Not the kind of place id ever enjoy going into, and unless i have to (i.e. to buy bits for my wifes ipod) never ever will.

You should be freaked out for buying the overpriced rubbish that are Bose headphones and feel even worse about it because you paid extra as they were from an Apple store.
