Anyone else feel freaked out when going into an apple store?

But that happiness is only temporary. Marketing tries to create the falsehood that it will make you happy outright.

No, I'm not suggesting that at all. People have to buy things so the world can go round. The creation of credit, and therefore progress and social mobility fundementally rely on it.

As I've said over and over now to the point the repetition is giving me a headache: I want people to wise up. That's it, nothing more. It's one thing for people to be smug when they've got reason. It's quite another when they're talking out their rear or basing their facts on fallacy or incorrect assumptions.

I'm more than happy for someone to say "I'm happy with my iPad because it does x,y and z really well."

I dislike it when someone says "I've got an iProduct. Look how cool I am!"

Anyway, on that note I'm backing out gracefully because I'm just going to get irritated and no doubt someone is going to troll. I like you particular guys too much to go down that road tonight.

Exactly robbo! I enjoy picking up my iPhone, hell I'm on it now, much more enjoyable than my previous phones. That's not because it's apple, ts because it's a good product.

Well why didn't you just say this to begin with? I'm sure everyone will agree (I do). :p

The iPhone 4 is the only phone I actually enjoy holding, it feels so premium (due to its construction, not because of the Apple on it). :)

Nothing wrong with that. If you still can't understand my points then I can only assume it's gone over your head somewhere along the line.

Anyway, that's me.

got to agree with nix here. i'd say i was shocked at people's reactions but i've seen it many times before. Nix said a fair view, then people say he's said something completely different and go against the nonsense they've just made up, and the silliest thing is what they are against is people making up stuff about what others are doing, if that makes sense :p

Well why didn't you just say this to begin with? I'm sure everyone will agree (I do). :p

at little earlier...

Apple customers no longer seem to think "Is this product the best value and function for my needs?" but rather ignore that for "How will this product make me feel?" and Apple obviously reinforce this digression by applauding people when they make said purchases. I'm reminded of this song:
and...

I couldn't give a toss if someone buys an iPod. I just don't want them doing it so they can keep up with the Jones's nor do I want Apple propogating falsehood to get them to do so.

Show me one person in this thread who has said that

Once again Nix, you arent talking in reality but out of your own distorted perception which seems to be a determination to hate and undermine Apple products. Sweeping generalisations like 'Apple customers no longer....' are rude, insulting and offensive. I am an Apple customer. I have a .me account which automatically syncs my contacts, calendar, email and files accross devices. I use iTunes which is a vastly superior music catalogue library over WMP. I didnt buy this MBP pro on a whim, i got it because it satisfies my needs as a productive tool.

Wise up to what, Nix? What exactly is your point, what exactly are you trying to argue?

what would that achieve? why not pick at something nix actually said if you're so sure you need to defend your master company :p

There's no need to take that sort of tone with him, nobody here is defending Apple as a 'master company', just the same as any other company that was being wrongly represented in some respects.

The problem is, as people keep saying, you cannot have a thread about this involving logical debate any more because one side will get labelled Apple haters and the other will be labelled Apple fans.

Pointless. Zzzzz.

Erm, he did say that, hence why i am asking him to show me an example of it from an 'Apple customer' in this thread. If most Apple customers buy Apple because its cool, surely this thread would be full of them?

Or are the Phelps family holding up banners saying God Hates Gays representative of all christians?

There are people like that, Nix said he hates them, fair play to him, it doesn't matter if there's no one in the thread like that, it's still inline with the topic.

Bringing the Phelps in to it just shows how adamant you are to continue your strawman argument, because he didn't say everyone who buys apple thinks they're really cool for owning an "iProduct", and you know that, but you've still insisted on pretending that he did say that.

Can you read?
He has clearly stated he has nothung against apple but he dislikes ppl whi buy an apple product because its the trend. Or when ppl buy something BECAUSE its apple and presume its better than everything else.
He clearly said that its fine to buy an Apple product because it does what you need it to better than the competition.
He clearly outlined his points(most of which i agree with) numerous times. Go back and reread his posts befire you make BS allegations.
