There are 2 things (education-wise) that you need to think about regarding your time at university.
Will your degree be attractive to employers?
Will the skills you learnt be useful in what you do, or at least help you to start in something new?
If neither of those are steadfast yes's, and there is a different option available, get out now.

The only attractive part is the external Cisco module, which I can (and currently am) study outside of an institution.
There are some valuable skills to be learnt such as project management, business development and of course the benefit of a tutor with 30 years IT experience. However, I don't think the cost of the course, or the dredgers clung onto it make it worth while.
I know exactly what you mean. Part of my course is to build large enterprise class networks (be it on physical equipment of virtual: no difference except for the virtual I don't have to get off my ass as much), and when you have to work with some guy who either doesn't know jack or doesn't care it makes your life a nightmare.
A good example is when building the network, you always run some form of testing as you go along and you have expected outcomes that at our education level should always be met. But, lets say that guy skips half the steps, chances are you have to spend the entire morning/afternoon figuring out where the problem is, all the while he is probably making it worse.
That pretty much happens each week and by the middle of last year I simply refused to work with all but two people.
I was talking more along the lines of they rarely (if ever) get laid.

Could this not be a way of teaching systems/project management? Decorating is not exactly a lucrative business but there are set ways of going about each job so that it does not interfere with the next one. It could be a complete farce, but I can see relevance if done properly.
Well the unit is meant to deliver the project management segment of the course, and yes it was more than adequate. However, implementing a small school network would also have been adequate and be relevant.
I would change course if your current course mates are that bad. If you say the course is run badly, then even more reason to do so.
Since Comp Sci is probably the flagship Computing course at where you study, you should be able to change courses quite easily. Though, I'm not entirely sure on your Uni/College, but it should be possible if that's the case.
If you're lacking chicks or just fun in general, a good thing to do is to join a sports society. That way, you'll meet more outgoing people too.

The funniest part is, the half the course written by leads met is fantastic, but the part written by hull college nearly has me jumping off he roof
