Which waterblock out of these would be the best?

Alphacool HF 14 Yellowstone – copper edition sockets 775/1366/1156 Product No.: 10366
£35.39
Watercool HK CPU LGA1156 Rev. 3.0 LT - White Product No.: 10342
£44.01
EK Water Blocks EK-Supreme HF Plexi universal (775/1156/1366/AM2/AM3/939/XEON) Product No.: 10334
£51.63

or would another block be better? (suggest one)

Also, would I be able to get a bracket to use the alphacool and watercool with an AMD socket?

EK Water Blocks EK-Supreme HF Plexi universal is currently the best block on the market, try and get the rev 3 since it has a improved mounting system.

The supreme hf is a great block, i have the full nickel version and couldn't be happier with the performance or build quality. It does come at a price premium for the degree or 2 it is better than the rest by.

You should also take a look at the new Swiftech Apogee XT, with new high-flow features. Very good temps and the easiest mounting system there is.

The LT is a great block - check Skinnee's roundup.

Of course, that was a little while ago, but the results are still relevant. Though the rev 3 EK wasn't out then, so their results will have changed.

To be honest though, it's pretty difficult to go far wrong with any modern CPU block, even the cheaper ones (EK LT, Heatkiller LC and so on) will still perform well.

What did they change? Can't say i have had any problems with the way mine mounts but i know a couple of reviews complained about the mounting system.

Cheers for that. Looks a bit easier. They are offering the mounting kit seperately as well so i may get one of those when they come into stock in the UK.

+1 for the Supreme HF. I've got the acetal version - it looks amazing, beautifully engineered block. Performance is spot on too.

That's really annoying they released that only a week after I got my HF. I thought the mounting mechanism was a bit pants, especially after my old FuzionV2 which had a really nice method.

I might have to order the new mechanism and retrofit it.

Contact Eddy EK on the Xtremesystems forum he may be able to sort something out for you, otherwise it's about £8 :)

WHAT!!! nooooooooo! - I just got my EK Supreme HF Nickel block (from the retailor rhyming with pan) last week and it's got the old mounting system - grrrrrrr

Mounted it ok though so as long as the block itself hasn't changed suppose there's no harm...

OOH - read the EK article - turns out you don't get the extra customised internals with the new ones so suppose there's a bonus to getting the older one...(even though they claim the standard jet plate is the best - I changed it to the one with more splices so as to not restrict flow too much)

You just jumped back a year in time. :p The one you fitted was the plate that used be fitted as standard. They changed it to the single slot plate after all the reviews complained about them fitting the plate with the worst performance. I went for the two slot plate as i felt it was the best compromise between performance and restriction.
