If its got the new 'ribbon bar' I'll be sticking with W7! - W7 is pretty good - really can't see why we need a newer version so soon anyways...

I keep reading the reports about new features leaked from Windows 8, some of them seem pretty decent.

Looks like the long awaited "App Store" is coming which should be brilliant! It seems to be working well for Mac users on Macs so I hope it eases more less computer literate users to try out software they normally wouldn't.

I also saw a screenshot of an applications folder which will be very useful to have a single place for all programs to be launched from.

Windows 7 went RTM in July 2009 and went on general release in October 2009. It is almost 2 years old. MS have always released a new OS every 2-3 years with the exception of XP to Vista. That being due to monumental **** ups in project management.

Or the appstore could just be an excuse to not include features for free. Think DLC for games.

Not a bad idea. MS already remove features in lower priced Editions. It would be great if you could selectively buy certain features without the cost of upgrading to a whole new edition.

However, MS wouldn't gimp their OS just to make a few quid out of selling Notepad as a DLC!
