Hello all i need some advice over which board to go for. for my sandybridge set up. I allready have bought a 480 gtx se and would like the option to go sli at some point.

I have narrowed it down to 4 choices.

The first is a Sapphire Pure Black P67 Hydra Motherboard - LGA1155 Retail **B3 Revision**

It seems like its got a lot of good features for the price and it overclocks well what i have come across from googling, but i am a bit confused to how the hydra stuff works can any one explain it to me. Its my understanding it doesnt support sli but i can have a geforce and ati card, how do these work together.

Asus P67 Sabertooth Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **

I like the look of the board the one thing thats putting me off is i have heard bad things about the asus p67 boards. In temrs of faults and failures.

Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **

As above really, i know this board has good reveiws if it goes wrong it worrys me how long it will take me to get a replacment.

Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **

This is the one a i am leaning towards, its on offer this week which is a bonus but i know very little about this board it hasnt got any reviews on ocuk and not much in the way of features listed.

So if people can give me some advice or their experiences with these boards i would be really greatfull. I am really unsure which one to go for, is there any mobos i am overlooking i could strech my budge to the 200 pound mark.

Thanks for your time :)

yeah as i said wanted to aviod the asus boards heard dodgy things about them.

Thanks for the reccomendtion Surveyor , i really like the sound of the auto overclocking feature and its a really good price which would enable me to go for faster ram :)

Regarding the Asus mobos, other makes have had issues as well.:)

Read this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18261244

There are interesting posts regarding the number of boards sold & return rates on certain mobo's.

Also you will see more negitive reviews on Asus boards, considering we sell 5 times as many Asus boards to gigabyte boards.
Our overall return rate for the Asus P8P67 PRO is 2%, the MSI GD65 is also 2% and the Gigabyte UD4 is 1.56%.

The return rates may be similar but there are a lot of people who have obviously kept their Asus boards but are having issues.

I can't recall a single thread on here of anyone having anything other than minor problems with their MSI boards.

The only one I can recall is someone who couldn't get their motherboard's fan control to work.

This for one:

More people buy Asus, which is why you see more horror stories. They went through a nasty teething stage though with B1 versions and early BIOS'es, for sure.

I've owned (all P67) the P8P67 Deluxe B1 (random BSOD), MSI GD65 B3 (random BSOD and wouldn't see DisplayPort monitor), GA UD4 B1 (overclocking failed message drove me crazy, LAN also dropped out) and now the Sabertooth B3.

Overclockers were fantastic regarding returns. Their customer service is what keeps me buying here :¬)

The Sabertooth has been flawless, and the Asus UEFI is the best by a considerable margin. The MSI BIOS is plain awful to use, looks like it was designed and usability tested by a 5 year old who just learnt a couple of basic photoshop filters!

Very happy with this board.

So you don't beleive the figures from from OcUK?

I have the Gigabyte UD4 and it's been solid as a rock with my i5 running stable at 4.2Ghz via the multiplier only. Old school bios performs great. Dual bios gives you more confidence to experiment if required. Oh, and it look awesome in black:)
