Do you tidy your rubbish at KFC/McD's/BK?

[Start post claiming that I never, or rarely, eat at those "places" - although I frequently do but I want to snob them]

[Make a comment implying that people who eat there are inferior to me, just because I feel bad about eating there due to the various associations people place with fast food restaurants and their clientele]

[Carry on with this or the other implying that I am morally superior to anyone eating there -makes me feel better- and make one or two sweeping derogatory generalisations about the establishment and those who eat there - preferrably about healthy eating, intelligence, upbringing etc, ignoring that this patently shows how ill-informed and silly I am about the actual dietary details and target customer groups]

[Again remind readers that I rarely eat there, if ever, because, it's like, soooo below me]

Yeah, I think this sums it up.

Pretty much the standard OcUK format for a fast food related post, you've got that spot on :D

Yes I generally sling my stuff in the bin.

It takes no time, you will be near a bin or walk pass one going out the door, granted if you are a woman with 3 kids its not as easy but any capable person can do it.

People just don't care. Its like when people chuck stuff out a car.

It is not like that... I never chuck things out of my car window.

However I am happy to leave my rubbish on the table of a restaurant where I have purchased and eaten the food at.

Why would anyone not? :(

Because iv just paid a fiver for a pounds worth of food, and feel completely at ease with letting ronald mcdonalds finest pick my tray up.

In exactly the same way i feel at ease having paid 200 quid for a dinner for 2 i dont go rushing into the kitchen with my plates when im finnished.

Always throw my own rubbish in the bin, along with giving my lazy mates a bit of a verbal poke about being dirty ***** for leaving theirs lying around

usually they are aware someone has just left the table and start cleaning it right away

To give an update I was at KFC last night and it was not busy and whilst I was there at least 5 tables emptied and all had removed their own rubbish to the bins but the time between the first table being left and my leaving was around 15 minutes and no-one went near the table to clean it. Perhaps my branch is a not as busy as others but it shows that it does happen.

Mcdonalds is a resturant. Do I clear away my plates when I go to a nice steak house? No, so why should I when I go maccy's, they are both resturants afterall.

Plus it gives the guy who is constantly mopping the floor something useful to do.

yes I do.I get annoyed at people who cba to do so. as for the idiots who sit in the car park, eat their meals, then chuck the rubbish out of the car windows even when the bin is next to the car!

Thats what im saying, its job creation, you are keeping them gainfully employed.

I seriously can't comprehend people who are comparing McDonalds to a waited table service restaurant...

well in a restaraunt i have a waiter come over with a menu and mcdonalds is a restaraunt so when i go into mcdonalds i sit down at a table and wait for the waiter...

oh wait :D yea its ridiculous that people compare it to a restaraunt as an excuse for lazy behaviour

You are paying £5 for the cost of food, the cost of employees, the cost of the premises and various other bits and bobs. Especially if you are sitting down to eat you need to factor in the cost of you hogging their tables/chairs as well.

It is more than likely that your £200 dinner costs only a little more than your McD food as in the actual food ingredients. Given this premium, which you are paying for SERVICE&AMBIENCE (hint:hint), you are not expected to rush to the kitchen and wash up.

Also, the Ronald McDs finest are people like you and me, who work at a crappy job to make ends meet for various reasons, least being that they are too "dumb" to be worthy of anything better (as many people seem to think). The work conditions and pressure at fast food outlets is very high for very little wage and no prospects, with the threat of getting sacked hanging over your head over the smallest incident. If you have a bin within sort walking distance and your food consists of cardboard and wrappers (a.k.a no washing up), the least courteous and decent thing to do is to bin it yourself. It doesn't cost you anything, it's no burden to you and it saves the people who work there a bit of time to serve the next customer faster - who may be yourself next time.

The kind of attitude described in your post is disheartening to say the least. Disheartening, but not surprising.

Restaurant is a restaurant. They get paid to tidy up. Only time I ever clear my table is if it's really busy.

That's disingenuous as yourself must have different expectations depending on how much you pay don't you? You don't suggest that you expect the same level of service and ambience when you pay £10, £100, £500 for a dinner meal at a fast food, local restaurant, fine dinning michellin restaurant, do you?

Or do you expect to be treated exactly the same by the staff at all places? If not, why not? aren't they all "restaurants"?
