Borderlands 75% off Steam

What the Claptrap revolution like? Liked all the other expansions apart from the arena.

Was wondering the same thing. Does it get any better? I remember doing the first couple of missions - find 50 claptrap bits, then 100 and then when she asked for 200, I thought bugger this and stopped playing.

Yeah its nothing like fallout really it is very good but does get a bit samey, i think i played up to about level 20 before getting bored.

Some nice mods for it too to make it look even better, i have the original disk otherwise i would be tempted for the extra downloads.

Yeah it's worth £7.50 so long as you know what you're getting. This is a long and repetitive single player game. Don't even bother with the multiplayer. It's synchronous p2p and the netcode is atrocious.

12.5GB bloody hell, I went to tesco hoping to play this when I got home, only going around 700kbs and at 79% steam has been slow recently, I used to get at least 3MB/s

Well worth £7.50 - although as said it does get a bit samey after a while - am up to about level 43 or so and it's taking a while now to level up / find better guns.

Started Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and so far liking it - not sure how much more to go tho!

Secret Armoury of General Knoxx is my favourite expansion and his sayings are funny.:D

Tip to those new to the game: try get an elemental weapon in each slot but different types i.e fire/electric/corrosive/explosive....and also make sure they are different gun types unless you have an ammo regen skill mod you've found.(also an anarchy smg is great later on for crawmerax)

It's most fun with 4 players as you get best items/mobs can be tougher and it syncs really well on the quests.

Grrrrr damn you Steam!

Just bought this on April fools day sale from Play, for a whole £3 for the original Borderlands and loving it! :D

Hmmmm, £7.50 for a Steam version and all DLC.... that is indeed tempting...

Does anyone know if you can 'import' a character from the non-Steam version into the Steam version?

*Edit in bob the builder mode* Yes we can!

Does the game of the year version on steam have steam achievements?? Can someone confirm this for me?...

Seems to, I've just bought it and pulling it down right now at 5.7MB/s (yes, that capitalisation IS correct :D) and it lists various achievements, including some that are DLC specific
(such as killing Clap-Trap interplanetary ninja assassin)

  • "This planet smells like hemorroids wrapped in bacon."
  • "I work for children... The admiral is five. FIVE. Goddamn nepotism."
  • "That doesn't even make sense to me. That's like mowing your lawn with a nuclear weapon."

;) :D

Bought it couldnt resist the deal. Not installing it yet. Just going to leave it on my games list for a rainy day. Iv been waiting since release for a deal like this as it didnt catch me straight off the mark.

Meh, Playthrough 1 is very hit n miss. It starts off levelled nicely for you but if you actually do side quests by the time you hit the second area you are massively over-levelled and it doesn't really become hard again till the Lance show up. Playthrough 2 can be pretty similar too, not all that challenging till you hit the Lance.

Sometimes i wish the scaling you get on Playthrough 2.5 worked all game, or could at least be an option when you start. All enemies are your level +1 or +2 for badass, maybe +3 for some bosses. Keeps the challenge of the game throughout.

Yes the game has Steam achievements.
