Thinking of jumping from Galaxy S to Omnia 7... should I?

As title suggests.

I used to own a Zune HD and have all my music in the Zune software already so that's one reason. The second is my primary email etc. is on Hotmail so that tighter integration would be nice as would Xbox Live. Also I think I just want a shiny new toy to play with.

One big hesitation is sat nav. Does windows 7 have anything comparable to Google Navigation? I do use it quite a bit.

Anyone else made the leap from Android to WP7 and if so any regrets?

I think you probably should.

Windows Phone 7 does have some Sat Nav options but none are quite as good as Google Nav. Bing Nav has been enabled now as far as I know and that should get the job done well enough but I haven't actually used it yet.

I didn't really 'make the leap' to WP7, but I have an Omnia 7 as one of my many phones and its certainly one of the best handsets around at the moment.

There wont be anything new in the way of handsets for WP7 until the end of the year when Nokia get their phone out, which should be superb but that wont be until November onwards.

The Zune software for the PC is just awesome and it works very well with the phone as you would expect.

Its also a better designed handset than the Galaxy S all-round too.

As you use Zune already I think you should jump, especially if you use Zune Pass. I have an Omnia 7 and it's a great phone (although I do admit it would be nice to be able to customise it a little) and with Zune Pass it's spectacular. Any music I want at any time streamed directly to my phone, along with all the music I can devour on my computers as well.

I got my Omnia 7 in October/November and since then the main issue with it has pretty much vanished, the lack of applications. There's now about 10,000 available and plenty of good ones to choose from (although obviously there isn't as much choice as Android yet).

i have a galaxy s, and i love it. But after having a wp7 in a shop, i was very impressed. the zune interface has always been great, so the phone interface is also great.

Very smooth device, very clean, pretty impressed. and its hard to impress people and break into the phone industry today with android and iphone being so dominant.

I went from an x10 mini pro and it was a HUGE leap in performance and usability integration is great, facebook, hotmail, gmail, xbox live all seamless and the handset is awesome build quality and image quality are by far the best I have seen from a phone.

Zune is good too and as tou have already been using it for your music collection then i'm sure you wont have a problem with it.

The Lack of customization is rather irritating but I'm sure it will get there. Also the Apps are all 100x better than the rubbish (takes a darn sight less time to filter through them) you get on the Android app store as they all have to pass a Microsoft authentication and usability test (and its not cheap).

SatNav is very good although no Audio directions, maps and visuals are very clear and GPS held signal in the car from Bath to Weymouth without missing a turn (even on the new road sections) after 2hrs using it the battery had hardly been touched (unlike my old x10 mini that would eat the battery in 2 mins flat with GPS enabled)

Hope any of that helps :D

Cheers. All this is good to know as I've done a swap (on AVForums) and sent my Galaxy off an hour ago!

The Sat Nav you're using is built into Bing or is there another app (A to B?).
