I've always heard that England and Scotland are in "competition" or better they are not friendly between them. I ask me: is it a cliche' or happens for true?

No it's mostly sports related banter. There are a few derps on each side who take things to the extreme but we are all practicly one country anyway. Slightly different legal systems and such between the two but seeing as how eveyone answers to the government based in London and we share the same landmass and the island ain't that big it's just like two different states really.

Ah, I understand, like in other countries.

???

We aren't practically one country we ARE one country since 1707!

England isn't internationally recognised neither is Scotland.

Wiki it ;)

The Kingdom of England—which after 1284 included Wales—was a sovereign state until 1 May 1707, when the Acts of Union put into effect the terms agreed in the Treaty of Union the previous year, resulting in a political union with the Kingdom of Scotland to create the new Kingdom of Great Britain.[13][14]

Definitely sport related more than anything else. If anything the friction is between the Scots and the arrogant English media rather than the English people.

The main cause of non-sport related friction is English people thinking the words 'Britain' and 'England' mean the same thing. 'One World Cup and two World Wars' for example. When did England fight a World War against Germany?

English burds are easier, Scottish burds are fussier, Irish burds have sexier voices....never had a Welsh burd so can't compare. :P

For most people it's mainly to do with sport, and like any rivalry you love to hate the opposition. There is a real contempt for the English media though, and if they eased up then the rivarly wouldn't be quite so bitter.

Alternatively you could publicly flog Jimmy Hill :p
