True of false: relationship Uk and Scottland

We are just skirt wearing gingers, Who chase after Haggis' saying COME ERE THE NOO!!

(At least thats what the english think:D:D)

Been to Scotland a few times, never had any grief (Edinburgh is a wonderful place). Been to West Wales twice, got insulted/patronised on both occasions for having the audacity to speak English in "God's Country".

I'm Scottish, wife is English and we live in Scotland. Never really understood the whole England/Scotland rivalry and usually assume it's the same sort of stupidity which revolves around PS3/Xbox and Apple/MS fanboys as much as football teams. I'm rather proud to be British.

Furryboots anyone?

nope no problems really.

Scots like to see the English lose at sport because it's fun watching the englilsh pundits who already had England's name on the silverware whine about where it all went wrong and heap blame on the guys they were idolising a mere 80-90mins before hand. It's NEVER that the other team were better NEVER EVER that!

It's AWAYS that England didn't play their best. Here's a fact pundits QUITE OFTEN England do play their best but they weren't AS GOOD as the opposition. When the Pundits on BBC and ITV admit this fact the Scots will calm down hehe

True Story :p

Edinburgh is nice because its full of English people. its not really Scotland same with most of the lowlands. ;)

Any rural places in Scotland? Wets Wales is generally the land before time...

The only drama I see between us all is just for some banter...nothing like having a group of scottish, Norn Irish, Welsh and knobs sorry, English, friends!

I've been in Scotland and off course England. I really don't see big differencies between people and other things. So for me difficult to say something about this question. I opened the post because I always heard this history and answers from you confirm that something is true. Ok probably ( and fortunately ) not a big problem but a kind of campanilism patriotism....

Lol got to love the Welsh.

Me and sixty other Jocks from the Black Watch were attatched to the 2nd battalion the royal Welsh for over a year.Got on with them really well, great bunch of lads. They really hated the English though!

most of its joking, some of it is sports related and then there's a small minority of nutters, the kind that would revert us back to city states if they could which everywhere has.

some tension is real though, especially in the last few years as scotland politically has become more forceful through the parliament.

the people are of course not different really beyond accents and the ability to live past the age of 45.

lol whut?
the reality of a completely porous border for hundreds of years means we are all the frickin same.

oh and hook line and sinker.

Rebuild Hadrians wall is what I say!

And electrify it! ;)

Joking aside, the English media can really get on us Scots' nerves sometimes. When any Scottish sports person is winning at something he's branded as British. When he loses he's branded as Scottish.
