Hello,
i recently decided to try connecting my GTX570 via the HDMI on it to my LG W2261VP's HDMI port . No problem up to that point, but i did get a message when i powered on about "Check connections" but booted and the Windows screen appeared nice n sharp. BUT... i didnt have any sound.
My Soundcard is a Sound Blaster Extreme Gamer.
What should i do to get sound back ? i get it ok with DVI cable !
Thanks.

Go into control panel then hardware and sound. Once there click sound then make sure hdmi is set as default you will not really need your Sound Blaster Extreme Gamer. as this will do a direct output over hdmi, but it all depends what you are doing.

Thanks sven256,
I guess i'd be better off sticking to DVI then so that i can get the audio quality of my SBEG in games , or am i missing the point here ! ;)

As i said depends what it's for. If it's for gaming then yes you are better sticking to your soundblaster.

But if you have a good av and and want to watch films etc i would go with hdmi.
