so i think my stock top exhaust fan is finally dying, making a racket and vibrations are quite bad.

so thought it may be time to change the fans in the case.

just got the stock case cooling in there at the moment (1x in psu chamber, 1x in rear and 1x in the roof)

im looking at the Fractal Design 120mm Silent Cooling Fan (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-001-FD&tool=3)

would these fit ok and more importantly are they as silent as they are described?

thanks

If you are replacing stock Tri-cool fans then those fans should be around the same as a Tri-cool on Low. The Tri-cools are half decent stock fans and so are the Fractals. According to SPCR the Fractals rotate a touch faster than the Tri-cool. The TC on low are about 900rpm and the Fractal 1000rpm.

Basically you are swapping one case's stock fan for another so don't expect miracles. Although I suspect the Fractal's are of a slightly superior quality to the Antec.

thanks mate

didnt know the stock were tri cools lol

but they have a switch at back of the case for the fans and they are always on low and have been fine for ages up until the top one has started to make noises.

cooling temps are fine as they are so not looking to anything mega, just like for like would do!

il take a look at the tri cools :)

My P182 case has 4 x Noctua NF-P12 as case fans and it's practically silent. Much better than the stock fans. I also have a Noctua NH-D14 inside too.... hmmm guess i like the Noctua products!
