335i

The price is inflated by the fact it's only got 8000 miles on it, which I would say is probably a pointless premium to pay.

If you want a 335i SE like that, Wood BMW of Hampshire have an Approved Used one very much the same for £16k on a 56 plate but with more average miles on it.

Fuel economy isn't bad for what it is - 20mpg around town, 25mpg mixed and 30ish on a run. Road tax on that example is £445 a year as it isnt an Efficient Dynamics model.

Im getting around 37 on a run (can be more), 30 average and no idea for town if that helps

Its a manual though if that makes any difference

it halved the road tax because the 10g/km knocked off put it into the lower tax band.

Ok, so a small change made a big difference. Is there any noticeable effect on real world figures?

Any obvious way to spot if it is an ED? I've been looking at 57/08 plates in general as they seem to be around my budget....

If you're looking on autotrader/BMW AUC just look at the CO2 emissions. If you're looking on PH, just type the registration number into the Vehicle inquiry bit on the DVLA website and that should tell you the tax band/CO2 emissions.

How are you ever going to verify such a difference in the real world? Peoples driving styles differ too much.

Sounds like a fair logic, I just though someone may well have 'tested' it.

I dont really see why people are so bothered, a pre ED 335i will cost you a few quid less to buy but will could you an extra 200 quid a year in tax, thats not really much when you are considering buying a 20k car.

It should cost a few £ less to buy because it’s an older car. I don’t really think the ED models are attracting a premium as such so it makes every sense to get one. If the ED cars were overpriced due to this £200pa saving then I’d say get a pre ED model, the fact of the matter is though the knowledge in the market isn’t sufficient to take note of this change (unlike the OMG it’s diesel so it must be cheap crew).

Yes I agree if you are looking at 07 cars and happen to find a ED you like fine but I would not bother to spend extra time and effort to get a ED model.

When I was selling my 335i a couple of people called and lost interest when they found out it was in the 400 quid tax bracket.
