Do you give your glasses back up at the bar?

If I'm leaving, and the bar is on the way then generally I will. If there are a few glasses, i won't. If its table service, I won't.

No-one else prefers to stand at the bar then and sup away and fantasise about the barmaid :o saves the walk to the bar which = quicker service

Will take them back to bar if going for another drink or bar is on way out of said drinking establishment. Otherwise leave them there and someone will generally take 30 mins to move them round here!! But it's not very busy, and there's loads of pubs to drink in.

Normally I'm outside so don't bother taking them back.

If it's a nice pub, and I like the staff, usually but not always. If it's just some chain pub I'm less likely to do so, but still may.

It depends on the layout a bit as well, if I have to go past the bar on my way out then I'm more likely to take my empties with me as it doesn't cost me anything.

As I said in the other thread, it depends on the staff. If I get decent customer service I do, otherwise they can do it themselves.

Though that is assuming it's just a couple of glasses. Obviously I wouldn't take them back if it were a table full of glasses and bottles.

Infrequently. I don't find this one as much of a faux par as the McDonalds situation. Having worked in a pub for years previously I used to have to get the empties every now and then, its no big deal. If I'm having another I will take them up, but if I'm tanked I don't even bother, too big a risk of me smashing them!

ALWAYS leave a tip, at least for your first drink - you get MUCH better service!

Depends which bar.

If I'm at the local one when I'm at home with that parents I will take empties up when I leave and when I get a new drink along with anything else on the table at the time. Mainly because I get on so well with that landlord and he opens the pool table up for us when its a lock in :p

When I'm in Newcastle its usually to busy so I usually just do it on my way out rather than every time I get a new drink, as they usually have more staff :)

If im heading back to the bar ill always take my emptys as I dont want my table to be full of glasses. If im leaving and the bar isnt on the way out Ill leave them on the table.

Unless its my local then ill take them back inside and say bye/thank you.

Nearly always. City centre pubs on Fri Sat nights when the bar is 6 deep - no.

Local pubs I always do whether it's on the way out or not and say thank you and good night.

When getting in another round I usually take back people's finished glasses, this helps the staff and also stops our table looking like a wasteland.

If I am going back to the bar for another, I usually take my empties with me. Though in the bar I go most often, Sandbar in Manchester, the bar staff are coming by every 5-10 minutes. Sometimes your empty is whisked away moments after your last swig! :p

I think they're so efficient because they're glad of the cooler air outside. Sandbar can be stifling!

Fantastic place though! My mate once had to hand his shoe in as deposit for a glass in there as people kept stealing the glasses!

No, i leave them on the table. So after i have drunk all my Shandy's people can see how ard i am!

Seriously though, i'd take them back unless the bar is rammed.

Depends on the bar and if the staff are busy or not. If they're just chatting and not doing much then I'll leave my glass on the table, even if I'm getting up to get another.
