FUMING! at user on popular auction site! advice?

You beat the system, man!

Play Euromillions tonight, give me 100K for the heads up :)

That's why it can be such a minefield on eBay. Good sellers are paying for scammers and rip off merchants sadly, I guess that goes for plenty of other walks of life.

I sold an Xbox 360 last month, and so far all has gone quietly. The seller received it at the beginning of last month.

I took LOTS of photos with my user name and date on a piece of paper and documented any numbers I could find, as well as taking photos of them. I also wrote I did all this in the listing. To my surprise no 'new' users or ones with low feedback scores (under 10/15) even bothered trying to bid for it.

As said, so far so good with it.

lots of dodgy buyers on ebay.

I sold a phone a few months back and i packed it up and clicked 'dispatched' but i was going to psot it at the end of the day. While the parcel was still in my house the buyer had done a chargeback through paypal. I still had the phone and no harm done.. :P

This is good news and restores my faith in justice a little bit more, still it has made me more reluctant to sell the cameras I have. Maybe Ill MM first.

It does work both ways for scams though, I'm not entirely sure how the buyer worked this in my case but what happened was.

I nought a PS2 fron ebay a few years back that was advertised as GWC.
When it arrived it was quite obvious that it had been tampered with, the draw wouldnt even eject past half way was one of the faults nor would it read any disk.
Contacted seller, who said to send it back so I did via recorded, it went missing and I ended up something like £20odd out of pocket as royal mail insurance does not cover the cost of postage only the item sent.

Congratulations!

You won....er....10 days of being really stressed and wondering what was happening, a scammer giving up and...oh yeah, eBay not unfairly taking your money.

I understand why you're pleased and appalled that you've had to go through all that strife...I'm never selling anything on there...just not worth it from all the stories I've read.
