Show off your Jap cars!

If that were true then why are all the serious time attack subarus and evos running very low on great big wheels? ;)

This could quite easily degrade into a semantics related trade off but here goes.

TA cars are more than slightly different to the road cars we are discussing here.

I can't think of a single prominent Evo TA car i've looked at in the last 6 months that is running 19's.

Most run 18's which is 1" over stock on 7-9's (I.e. not a "Great big wheel") and which is the stock wheel size on the X.

It has been debated extensively on the MLR that generally speaking running bigger wheels sacrifices turn in.

I'm not pretending to be an expert but I imagine that given the TA cars run slicks, I imagine that balls to the wall grip from an enlarged contact patch is more important than turn in.

You can hardly compare a time attack car to your average 'scene' car.... :p

That's like saying TA cars have big spoilers so I'm going to stick one on my bog standard car so it's jdm tyte y0 innit.

If your actually serious I will be all over that mate :p.

Yeah mate, don't see why not. If you could take some photo's and email them to me, of the top suspension mounts at the front then I'll be able to 100% determine if I can do it. I don't have a ratchet gun, so if I need one then I can't do it. What do you have? Springs, dampers or what?

I don't know what the specs are on the wheels - the car was featured in Fast Car (I think) a few months back though. The owner isn't a big fast car fan, but mag coverage is mag coverage at the end of the day!

It's running 18's. Yes it has very little clearance and he gets a lot of tyre rub, but it's a weekend car and it still handles very well and goes very quick (note FMIC rather than TMIC), it's just damn bumpy. And yes it's 'scene', he runs the blog 'Lowlife'.

It won't be for a while yet but it'll just be springs, FK 35mm drop. I should think around May time if thats cool? Will try and contact you nearer the time.

Also I'd recommend removing your email from the post and adding it to your 'trust' information. Last thing you want is some bot trawling the forum and spamming you!

I've not taken any pictures as of late, but here are some taken at the Brighton meet courtesy of the late, and sorely missed Janesy B :(

Still think the RX7 is one of the most timelessly beautiful cars ever made. It literally breaks the temporal rules for how good it still looks for a near 20 year old design.

+1

Still looks fresh and hasn't aged at all. Wish they would re-release it with a turbo 2ltr engine.

Done. And it looks fine to me as a job, just need a good selection of allen keys as it's something I've never got round to getting! I certainly have everything else!
