HD4890 1G upgrade to HD5750 512M

Just bought this card from a well known auction site for £65

XFX HD4890 XXX version at 1000MHz core with Akasa NEO cooler and HAWX

a) Was this a good price?

b) Should this improve my gaming experience?

It will improve your FPS. By a good deal aswell.

You could have saved up if you're playing modern games, and buy something like a 6870 or so.

If a 4890 is enough for you then enjoy.

Yes I am always reluctant to spend mega on a graphics card, even £150 sounds a lot, but thanks.

4890 is a great card,Only downfall is its DX10 and not DX11 but to be honest not all that of a big issue as games still look great if not much diffrent in DX10.

Id say its quite a bit better than a 5750

probably for most things 4890 is faster than the 5750 though obviously it doesn't have dx11.

I'd wait and see if other cards drop in price in the future.
