GREAT cooler.

Dropped my overclocked 480 (stock volts) by 10 degree's idle and 10 degree's max load (Kombustor)!

Shame OcUK have no stock, and no ETA for the 480 version. I had to go elsewhere!:(

does any one know if these offer better cooling over the gigabyte 3 fan cooler offered on the SE and SOC ?

Interesting question. Not seen the answer online TBH.

My card games at 60degree's when o/c'ed as per signature. Nice n' chilly.

I guess its cheaper and easier tho to buy the Gigabyte with the cooler fitted than get a referance board and fit the Zalman.

I went for the Zalman as i already had a referance card before the cheap specials came out on the Gigabyte card. For ~£200 the gigabyte SE or SOC were a steal!

I have one on my GTX470 and it takes up 3 slots. Great cooler and its silent when on the lowest setting using fanmate. :)
I've heard a lot of praise for GTX580 and GTX570 cards for being cool and quiet anyway so not sure if this would be a worth while cooler for them or not.

Is this easier to install than the thermalright shaman?

Isn't this the one with the easy fit heatsink for ram and vrm? I suppose this means it can't be easily transferred between graphics cards but will be easy to fit you'd expect.

Shaman isn't difficult to fit by the way and might be compatible with future cards with some new thermal tape. Only a touch more expensive and quieter than any dual/triple fan cooler, at least according to spcr. I did an installation guide on these forums when fitting to my 6950.

my 570 idles at 32c and only went up to 64c max on bc2 with a 1-1 fan profile

it is at stock speeds though, so this cooler would be pointless for me

480?

Hi guys, think i have made a mistake and ordered the wrong cooler. I ordered this cooler remembering it supported my GTX 480. Now im thinkin it wont, will there be a way to make this fit my 480 or will i have to return?

Thanks

i picked this one due to the ram and vrm heatsink being an all in one unit.

Problem I had was if you have vertical SATA ports on the board near the PCI-E slot then the shroud interferes with it. Originally I removed the shroud, then sawed a bit off.

I then purchased a Z68 motherboard with horizontal SATA's so it wasn't a problem anymore but just be aware if you have vertical SATA ports near the PCI-E.
