I did not know you could skin tanks! Just made this game even better, I love skinning stuff.
Yeah its great fun, wasted to many hours on it so far.

Some of the layouts on the textures maps are completely random though, there seems to be no set (& sensible) location for the minor bits of tanks, I've spent ages hunting for a spade handle or hatch ring, most of the time similar 'items' will be placed together but sometimes they're scattered all over the map like crazy. All part of it though
Admittedly all the tank models will use the skin you've chosen for that type and no one can see what skins you are using but seeing tanks in more accurate period colours (Particularly German vehicles) adds something.

This is another good one.
http://wotskins.ucoz.ru/ (in russian but it should be fairly obvious what to click on)
Best also to check the forums, as those sites tend to be slow to update.
The EU skin forum actually tends to be the most active.

Two things I need to ask,
A) How is it fair that tanks can fire at you while remaining unseen?
and
B) Why have the creators of this game still not sorted out the problems with being tracked? Somebody shot at me from my left and they destroyed my left track, just as that got repaired they destroyed the right track(Nobody else was firing and he was still on my left) and then he destroyed my left track again leaving me with no chance...
A: Its to do with the spotting system, check here if you want to read on the details.

Its really worth a read as it can help you better position yourself in game or act as a good scout if you play one. The tldr version though is don't underestimate soft cover like bushes, be aware of site lines and if you are unsure never stop in the open.
It is kinda bugged right now and will be 'fixed' in the next update (6.4 which is in semi public testing right now on the RU server).
B: It is possible to send a shell underneath the body of a tank which still passes through both tracks. Track repair time is a bitch when you don't have 100% crew, plus at low tiers with generally high RoF in most tanks its more so the case. Again the next patch, 6.4, is changing the tracking system so you either have to fire at (roughly) the front or rear third of tank tracks to track them, rather than anywhere on the lower side of a tank being a possible track shot. Think there are few other changes coming as well.
