I read that someone said it made the colours a little dull looking but can't find where I read it.

There's an anti-glare coating?

Evidently it's fine :D

Seems nothing to worry about then.:)

I've seen the Apple panel on display in that high street PC place. Very nice screen and colours but the glossy panel would be no good as I have three windows in the room and when the sun is out I won't see anything unless the curtains/blinds are pulled.:D

That's because Apple stuff has to be shiny and pretty. Form over function. remember?

Although I will admit when the 30" cinema displays first showed up they were stunning, and still ride with the big boys now.

That wasn't me was it? The antiglare coating on the U2311H is reasonably aggressive (I have tested a lot of these, alongside the U2410 which people sometimes criticise for its strong AG coating). It is actually very similar to the U2410 in this sense but I wouldn't say the image on the U2311H is really dull at all. In many ways it's more lively than a lot of comparably priced TN panels. At first it may appear to lack vibrancy but you soon notice intricate colour details that are lost on most other monitors of the price. The distinction between different shades often makes images appear more vibrant in some cases and the contrast is relatively strong for an IPS panel.

Yeah might have been thinking about it.:D Thanks for the clarification PCM2.

I think I have decided on the U2311H, would prefer a 16:10 but they are to expensive. Certainly don't want a TN panel.:)

Edit: I have tried to see if I can see one before ordering but not yet had any luck.

received mine today. loved so far!! zero dead pixel. The menu system is great to use and the stand is to the usual high quality Dell standard.

It might take a couple of days to get used to 16:9 if you're coming from a 1650x1050 panel, but the Dell 2311H is well worth it in terms of quality.

Just ordered one of these from Dell and it's giving me an estimated delivery date of the 19th of next month, it said expect it to take up to 10 days when I was ordering. Has anyone else had this?

Ordered mine just under a week ago from small business side of dell and delivery was stated as "3+ weeks". After ordering, delivery date was stated as the 17th of next month.

I spoke to an advisor who merely stated that there "is a lead time for this item" so just sit back and wait. Should be worth it, especially as I have had my £15 cashback through quidco confirmed today :D

Mine arrived this morning, I had been given an ETA of the 12/05 by dell and it arrived today so the 3+ weeks is abit of an exageration.

So far the colours on the thing are amazing, compared to my old TN I couldnt go back.

I've been playing mafia 2 on it for an hour or so, cant sit in all day with gorgeous weather like that, and all i can say is its brilliant, will no visible ghosting atleast to my untrained eye

I had similar month estimate but it only took a few days to process and ship in the end. It is OK for gaming, I was surprised to find it ghosted/trailed more than my old 2007wfp but it is not causing too many issues...

Just had an email from dell saying delivery is due on 26/04. Compare this to the original estimate of 17/05!! The 3+ weeks seems very conservative so don't let this put you off!!! Will post up my impressions coming from a good glossy tn panel when I get it!
