Dog ****ed On My PC

Difference between this and water is whats left after it drys. Orange juice is the worst thing to spill

I think there is cleaner for pcb boards, alcohol based or something

Thats nothing i had the contents of an entire fish tank empited through the top fans of my case WHILE THE PC WAS ON.
I wasnt even in at the time so when i came back it was a hell of a shock, just thank god nothing caught fire.
Dried it out (Including the flooded floor!) and replaced the PSU (Antec), everything else worked just fine!

What spec was your PC? Maybe your dog was just expressing it's opinion of it....

However if the dog really liked your PC....

Don't know what possessed him to do this, luckily I caught him in the act and even more fortunate the computer was off. The BD drive and card reader took the brunt of it but some liquid did get in. There were spots on top of the power supply but doesn't look like any could have got in. There was also some liquid on top off the graphics card on the back of the circuit board. I'm going to junk the card reader, as it was only £7 I'm not going to risk putting it back in. I've stripped out all the other parts to dry off. What are chances my GPU is still functional? Anything else I can do? I'm going to wait until this afternoon before putting back together, fingers crossed I guess.

Take this opertunity to protect the pc in future. Could be an expensive wee your dog did next time.....

Some funny replies in this thread. Everything seems to have dried out nicely even the card reader, though it stank so it went in the bin. Probably going to wait until tomorrow to put it back together as I don't need to use it for a while and I figure the longer it has to dry the better. Maybe it was my dogs way of telling me to upgrade to SB.

Have you thought about contacting Cesar Millan?

This could make a most entertaining episode of The Dog Whisperer.

make sure the components in the accident are dry, maybe left in day light for thew hours, and then leave parts under a desk side light for them to dry furely.
hope this helps.

Pee on your dog thus claiming ownership of him and reclaiming your pc :p

Thats not funny.

That is.

This is why a lot of people keep their computers on their desks :P.

Or train their dogs. Discipline.

I know I shouldn't laugh, but "The BD drive and card reader took the brunt of it " made me lol irl :P

Pour a ckeaner thats atleast 95% ethanol on your PCB and use something to gently clean it. Make sure it has a really high ethanol content so that it evaporates quickly

isopropyl alcohol, used for all sorts of cleaning things like PCB's, print heads etc as it evaporates completely after a short time with no residue, very handy for PC bits (and is the main part of many TIM cleaning solutions),

Thanks for the help. I used IPA on the GPU as suggested and it cleaned it up fine. All seems to be working fine now. Sound card wasn't working at first but pulling it out and re inserting it seemed to have done the trick.
