Hi,

This is tricky to describe the issue but my PC seems to work fine, however the fans in the case go full speed all the time (making a lot of noise) but only when any user other than my account (i.e. admin logs in).

My misses has an account on the PC and when she logs in the fans all go full speed and it makes a right racket. The only resolution is to restart the PC and log back in as me and they all calm down again..

I have no idea what's causing this as my account has no special fan speed controller software installed afaik. But something is telling the fans to run at full speed when she logs in. (The PC is only used for browsing etc. so i know its not a heat issue.)

Any help?

uhmmm, could be a dust in the case, check for loose wiring around the cpu fan or w/e.
could be a virus, do you have a fan speed controller on your case?

No virus.. AFAIK after full scan.

Both are on Balanced Power Options..

What is weird if log in as Mine (Admin) and then switch user to her account it still goes full speed, if i log into hers log out and then in with mine the fans stay on always. The only way to get the fans back to normal is a full restart and log in with only my account.

Have you compared her msconfig/Startup folder to yours? Any exe that's different to yours check out, scan and see if it's causing the issue.

Have you checked the temps yet? :p

That way at least you can tell if something is making the PC too hot, or if something is controlling the fans.
