Please clarify that my friend is a moron.

The drive isn't that significantly faulty. There is no physical damage it just simply dissapeared all of a sudden and it most certainly doesn't have any virus's on it. Not that they cause hardware faults anyway. It is his pc that would likely infect mine, he has terabytes of pirated stuff.

He likes to think he knows things about pc's just because he does a computing course in uni or something but he doesn't actually have a clue about the workings of one, just how to slot the parts in. I was the one who told him what to buy for his current pc and showed him how to put it together yet cant do a simple thing for me. Sigh.

I cba with him, is the nice way of putting it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks he doesn't have a clue. Sadly he beleives he does because other people who don't have a clue all flock to him when their word won't open a document or something so he presumes he knows things about the actual innards of a pc. If you asked him what tri-channel ram even meant or what conroe was (which is what he has) he wouldn't have a clue let alone other things.

Though like I said before, the actual truth is he simply just doesn't want to help because he won't ever do anything unless it benefits him too.
