More here.

Thanks for looking :)

The colour ones are fantastic though. What are you using?

Thanks. Canon 1000d with the new Tamron 70-300mm SP VC DI. Last two are shot with the Canon 50mm f/1.8 Mk2.

Some of the processing may be a bit "like it or lump it", but I've enjoyed experimenting with this photoset and tried to be a little more bold in post processing rather than be too generic.

Yeah I think full colour would work better especially with the touring cars as they are brightly decal'd up!

I was impressed at the quality of your panning and image quality, was most pleased to see they came from a 1000D!

Thanks chaps! No shots of Plato mid roll, got a few afterwards from a long distance. That's his car in the top right hand corner of #12.

Luke- The glass is definitely more important than the body in many cases where image quality is concerned. I don't use burst mode so don't need a fast shooting rate. The AF on the 1000d can give good results when partnered with a USM lens. Panning technique, patience and processing count for as much as a good lens. The importance of the body comes way down the list.

great pics, is the tamron the replacement for their old 70-300mm lens? i have the old one but its broken and its covered by jessops garuntee so if it is i may get this one as replacement

Thanks. It's a totally new lens, retailing for around £360. It's comparable to Canon's IS USM 70-300mm zoom, but the Tamron is sharper. It's also built really well indeed.

Sorry to hijack your thread Sean (Fusion) but as I went to the event with you I didn't feel the need for another thread, Here's a few images I took throughout the day...

Those tamron pcitures are incredbile, just soo sharp.

I'm very impreseed and it goes to show that you don't always need a 7D and L glass to get great shots.

Having a look for a telephot myself and this has now popped on in there, although the Canon 55-250 is just soo cheap!

Any more photos say on flickr of non-sports?
