Hi all, I quite like the look of the Civics and have been scouting around to see what sort of prices I'm looking at. I've found this one and just wondered what people think about the spec for the price? Also should I bet put off by the milage? I've only ever bought cars with no more than 25k on, this one does seem to have a lot of the extra's? Any advice would be great, thanks!

considering the spec it's not as bad as these guys are making out as it is pretty much the highest spec version that you can buy.

I would be asking if it has had the clutch replaced yet because until the 58 plates the clutch that Honda were using wasn't really strong enough and they tend to start slipping between 25k & 60k miles depending on how hard they were driven.

Honda have been replacing these with an the same uprated clutch that they used since the 58's but if it has not already been done and you can't convince Honda UK to supply a clutch and flywheel free of charge you are looking at the best part of £1500 to get them replaced.

If it has been replaced and you can knock them down a little then it'll be a good buy

You seem to be able to get a lot more Civic for your money than you would a similar aged/mileage Golf/Audi. That said, from the ones I saw at the weekend, that one seems to be a bit expensive. You should be able to get a 58 plate with not too many more miles for that sort of money. I guess you're paying a premium for all the extras onboard. For that sort of money you should be able to pick up a 56 plate Audi A3, but I agree that the Civic is a nice looking car and doesn't come with the Audi 'image' that it has gained in recent years.

Any examples? I can't seem to find any? I would ideally like the 2.2 version for the better MPG. Thanks.
