Just checking if the above is OK. I am open to ideas on better components for the money. Already have a keyboard, mouse, monitor, DVD drive and case.

Also using the hard drive listed above as a storage drive and installing Windows on a 80GB hard drive.

It's for my brother and he will use it for gaming (CS Source and COD 4) and general PC use.

Cheers

Great spec.

Dont install windows on a slow/old 80Gb drive, give it the best it can get, put it on the 1TB

I would personal get the 965 Phenom II its a nice overclocker. Got mine to 3.8 stable on air without voltage increase (ofc cpu dependent). The one you selected should overclock to the 965 default speed easy enough tho.

Why? the 955be is cheaper, and can reach just the same speeds.

they are all C3 steppings.

Have you not thought about doing a software bundle?

Can get windows 7 and a WD Caviar Blue 1TB for a combined price of £119.39 as opposed to the £167.97 you're paying for a HDD and Windows 7. Not to mention that mobo you're buying is 6GB/s compatible as well. So that'd save you £48.58 for something else.

that graphics card is the 1GB version, so it cant be 'flashed' into a 6970

the processor cooler you chose doesnt come with an AM3 bracket ;)

by going for the HDD + windows bundle, and going for a cheaper (but still really good) PSU, you can get a major graphics card improvement, and a better CPU cooler (i think its better).
