How do chaps...

I loved portal, but I was one of the unlucky people who's heads it messed with (from what I've read it was a FOV thing to do with the engine, but plenty of folks had the same issue).

Basically, with Portal and HL2 (yet no other FPS game and I've played plenty), after an hour or so you feel sick then it progresses into a migraine (and I'm not even susceptible to them normally).

So basically my question is whether the new one is built on an entirely new engine and if this problem will still exist? If there have fixed it all I'll definitely give it a go but if its gonna make me ill again of course I'll give it a wide birth!

Any ideas?

Surely it's worth giving it a go, just in case?

I suffer from migraines with certain games too (pretty sure Portal might have been one of them) but that would never put me off at least trying the game.

You can change the FOV in source engine games. I don't experience this though so I don't know if it works or not!

Naah not worth it matey, no game is worth a migraine those things are evil!

I experienced a bit of a headache after playing Portal, but I'm pretty sure it was fixed by typing a few lines into console, fairly straightforward fix.

As for PS3/XBOX... well there's the old argument that PC > Consoles :P

I shall try but you'll have to give me some tips...

So, when feeling sick and getting a splitting headache due to a dodgy FOV in a game, does a real man just plough on through until completion?

Should I also stop using moisturiser and straightening my hair :p

OH MY GOD YOU'RE ME!

Let's be friends... :) :p

I'm a sufferer of migraines and they're usually caused by things like bright lights and loud noises, but I can play Portal and any other game for as long as I like.

Maybe I'm just lucky. :o
