I've got a 16gb 3GS and I'm going to Lanzarote at the end of June.

I'm currently on an O2 contract, but their charges for use abroad seem very high and I'd be limited to 50mb.

Is it possible to buy (either here or in Spain) a pay as you go sim card to use?

It's a slight PITA buying anything to do with mobiles in Spain. When I bought a PAYG Vodafone dongle from El Corte Ingles in Puerto Banus last year - you have to produce your passport, they copy it and enter your details into the networks extranet, then you have to wait for it to be authorised. Took about 20 minutes, then they took my money and away I went.

The passport thing was brought in after the Madrid train bombs which were set off using PAYG SIM's. Not sure if all the other networks operate the same way as Vodafone.
