***SPOILERS*** Football 16-21 Apr 2010/2011

Both would have been very soft pens and can see why the ref didn't give them - harsh booking for Hernandez I thought but then Nani got away with a terrible dive where he should have been booked :p

Man Utd should have won though, Giggs missed an absolute sitter and then another towards the end, that's why they drew, not any dubious penalty shouts. Keeps the season alive till tomorrow night at least when Arsenal are blatantly going to roll over to Spurs :p

The newcastle penalty was blantant, he did not go down well after the contact, his left foot is clearly blocked, his right foot planted as it wasn't impeded, it was the next step he went down because his left foot being hooked stopped him continueing, stone wall penalty, clearly not a red card.

Hernandez both, jumps in the air, makes no or minimal contact, his foot hit the floor behind Simpsons, it wasn't prevented from doing anything, then he threw himself in the air. What I always find pretty obvious is, when a player jumps, then acts like both legs were hacked down, he's cheated.

You're also forgetting about the ridiculous Vidic elbow/head where he threw himself across the box, smashed into Ameobi, got none of the ball and absolutely destroyed Ameobi, that should also have been a penalty. Vidic then also threw another elbow at Ranger.

The Tiote one, it hit his arm, his arm was out but still to his side, he was side on to the goal, if it didn't hit his arm it would have hit the side of his body anyway, no penalty but its the closest Utd got to a real penalty claim.

Newcastle were great the first half, miserable in general in the second, Utd the opposite, appauling in the first half, you really very rarely see Utd under that much sustained pressure.

Carrick was rubbish again, Anderson did smeg all, Giggs was fouling quite a lot though one of the fouls against him was Barton just flopping in a good freekick position.

That will do, if people think others are trolling then use the RTM, remember though that being wrong or having a different opinion does not constitute trolling

of course you have never been confrontational in your life!!!

Two wrongs may not make a right, but words "pot" and "black" come to mind in a well known phrase

TBH Frank I stopped reading your posts a long time ago so it doesn't bother me in the slightest :)

I watched the game tonight, thought it was quite boring.

Newcastle just aren't good enough, despite having the odd decent attack they just faded as the game went on. They came out quite strong in the first half, they bossed the midfield, but just looked clueless up top other then "put it in the box".

United looked well under par, Smalling impressed me a bit, even though I think he plays too many long balls. Thought yet again players just didn't turn up for United, midfield was poor. United did what they tend to do though, start off poorly in a sub par performance and as long as they don't go a goal down they just get control of the game and press at the end. Chucking Owen on, did he even touch the ball near the box?

Didn't think the ref had a good game, but didn't think any of the pen shouts were pens either, or if they were they were all soft as ****.

Drunkenmaster summed up all the points from the game perfectly.

I just pray Newcastle spend that money on players they have a few quality players I'm that squad like tiote Barton Enrique and Nolan. Need to hang on to them and buy a striker!

Good win last night. I'm happy with 5-0.

That would have been the score if the chances Rooney, Giggs, Chico put away.

We are jinxed away this season.

forget that, it's all about tonight!

Yep Barca and Real..gonna be a stonker of a match hopefully...depending on how the Moaning one plays the game ie defensively or all out attack...

Not interested in the Arsenal game as i dont think we will win...a draw will do but i can see us getting beat by the Spuds...absolutely FA confidence in our team to keep a lead tbh.

Thanks to Newcastle, they did us a favour by holding Utd to a draw but still cant see us winning the EPL....my interest in Arsenal as i said a few pages back has more or less finished this season....maybe next season we might have a better team defensively...
