At the moment I have a dualboot setup with XP and Windows 7, both 32bit versions.
Next month I intend to buy a new SSD and reinstall Windows 7 on it, but is there still any reason not to install Windows 7 64bit version?

Are there any programs or hardware that is still having issues with Windows 7 64bit?

Go for the 64 Bit version. There's no reason to install 32 Bit these days :) Windows update will find most drivers that you can't get from the Manufacturer for the 64 Bit platform.

nope, 64bit runs all 32 bit apps fine, plus can run 64bit apps and use 4gb of memory, I have had no problems with 64bit win 7, it would have to be a really obscure app that needed 32 bit windows to run.

That is reassuring, I also have very few old hardware that can give problems, maybe my old Soundblaster Audigy 2 and I have a old HP printer that doesn't work at all with Vista/Win7 but that's not that important.

How are games running with 64bit Windows 7, are they faster, slower or no difference?

Games run fine, no major advantage in 64bit for games though at the moment.

As said before, go with 64bit, no reason not to.

I've NEVER had an issue with any 64 bit version of windows, other than XP in the early days. Even that got sorted out well before Vista came out. I personally think it's made out to be a bigger issue than it ever was.

The only issue i've had with 64 bit is random (oldish) hardware not working (my Nike Dongle being one of them). Apart from that, everything should be THUPER! :D

Some communications software does not run on x64 but that can be remedied by running VMware so there is no reason whatsoever for not going x64.

How much ram have you got?
I installed 64bit then went to 32bit as i only had 1GB of ram, made quite a difference, but 1gb ram is very low in todays standard.
